"In a story that has gripped football fans across the country, Gary Lineker has quit BBC show, Match of the day. No one yet is quite sure why the former england star has quit the show, and no one is sure what he plans to do next.
Lineker, 52, started his career at Leicester City in 1978, going on to play there for 8 years, winning the second division in 1980. He then made the switch to Goodinson Park in 1985, having made nearly 200 appearances for the foxes scoring 94 goals. At Everton, he may not have had a trophy filled time, with Everton only winning the FA Charity Shield in 1985. He only enjoyed 30 goals in 41 games for Everton, as following being top scorer at the '86 world cup, he joined Barcelona for £2. 8 million, some £2 million more than the Toffee's ppaid for him in the first place. 3 years and just over 100 appearances later, Gary Lineker had returned to england to play another 100+ games, this time with tottenham hotspur in 1989. In 1992 he left to join Grampus Eight, before retiring in 1994.
Rumours are rifee about who will replace him at match of the day with Gabby Logan most likely to replace him. But, the big question is What is he going to do now?
