This looks excellent, especially for your first story!

How do you get them to accept the player trades, that never works for me on my save.

Barca Secure the Super Cup

Barca are Spain's Super Cup champions aafter a half-hour blitz away from home took them to a 4-1 victory that secured a 6-3 aggregate score. Even Cristano Ronado could not win this one for Madrid; his astonishing free-kick gave his side hope just before half-time but as the final seconds ticked down, his shot curled fractionally wide of the post.
A Puyol red card in the first leg gave Madrid great hope and went ahead thanks to Essien but Messi dispatched a spot kick early in the second half and scored a goal in the 83rd minute to cancel out Jose Callejon’s first El classico goal.

In the second leg at the Bernabeu a Lionel Messi free kick put the visitors ahead and gave them the lead at half time , Rivaldo introduced Fernando Torres for his debut and the former Chelsea forward won a penalty that the Argentinean winger dispatched past Diego Lopez, Torres again played a one two with the influential Messi and the Spaniard lashed the return ball past a helpless Lopez. Essien again scored to regain some hope for the Capital’s big side but Iniesta piled all the misery on a heavily invested Madrid squad by chipping Lopez from 45 yards in the last minute.

Barcelona came into the game by beating Alcoyano 6-0 thanks to goals from Iniesta , Messi , Sanchez, Rodriguez , Ganso and Thiago . In the other pre season game they beat Cartagena when a Torres hat trick followed the opening goal by Xavi.

Coutinho Joins Rivaldo's Project

Rivaldo has today revealed his latest Samba star to join the Catalan Giants , costing 14.5 Million Euros from Liverpool FC

The first club of the footballer was Vasco da Gama in the youth team of which he was most frequently employed on a position of a playmaker. Aged 16 in 2008 he was purchased by Inter Milan for an undisclosed amount. However the FIFA laws forbid such transfers for players under 18. Thus Coutinho had to stay in his native club on loan. Three days after coming of age the footballer joined Inter and four days later he was officially presented as the team’s player. On May 8, 2011 he scored his first goal for the side hitting the back of the net against Fiorentina with a gorgeous set piece shot.

The second half of the season 2011/12 Coutinho spent playing for Espanyol and in the summer of 2012 he returned to Inter having made 16 appearances with 5 goals scored. During the 2013 winter transfer window his services were secured by Liverpool.

In the spring of 2009 he was capped by the national team of Brazil to participate in the U-17 South America championship where he played 5 games having scored thrice. The coach of the Brazilian squad Ney Franco called up Philippe to participate in the U-20 World Cup in 2011 in Columbia. In his second game of the tournament Coutinho scored a penalty to Austria and in the following game repeated the action against Panama.

Well done in winning your first trophy. Some great transfers made and good use of player exchanges. Torres is a brave one, especially considering you were after a 30 goal a season striker. Maybe you can re-discover his old form from Atletico & Liverpool days :)

Abidal in tears revealing he is leaving Barcelona after cancer fight to seek a new challenge

Eric Abidal is seeking a new club after being released by Barcelona but the Frenchman has already been offered an opportunity to return to the Nou Camp.
Abidal will, at least temporarily, end his six-year association with the club, who decided against offering a new playing contract to the veteran defender just weeks after he made his comeback following a liver transplant.
The former France full-back returned from a year on the sidelines last month and played a cameo role as Barcelona claimed the Primera Division title.

Rather than announce his retirement on a high note and move into a non-playing role with the Spanish giants - Barcelona today proposed a technical director role overlooking their international academies - the 33-year-old is convinced he has plenty to offer another team.
'I'd have loved to have stayed here but I have to accept the club's decision (of not offering me a new a contract),' Abidal said at a press conference today.
'My idea is to keep playing and I have not changed my mind, health permitting.'
The Catalan club offered every support to Abidal during his recovery from the transplant last April, having previously had surgery to remove a tumour in March 2011.
That has not been lost on Abidal, who added: 'It's a very difficult day for me.'I have played here for six years, and it's been the biggest experience of my life. I had two aims: to fight to be able to see my two daughters grow up and to play again.
'I want to thank all the fans of the club who have supported me and have been looking after me.
'The team is my second family. We have gone through a lot together and I'll remember this forever.
'I'm going, but I'll be sure to return. I want to thank all the fans of the club who have supported me and have been looking after me.'
Abidal joined Barcelona in the summer of 2007 as a replacement for Dutch left-back Giovanni van Bronckhorst, having helped Lyon win three consecutive Ligue 1 titles.

Copa Del Ray Quarter Final

Barcelona will not play for a goalless draw in Tuesday’s Spanish Cup Quarter Final with Real Madrid. After beating Valenci a5-2 on aggregate and managed a draw with Malaga in the weekend game

“We never speculate on the outcome of a match — Barca always are set up to attack and tomorrow, come what may, our intention is to go out and win,” said Rivaldo

Barca have an ultra-busy schedule coming up as they host Real in the Cup and then take them on in the league, though there they have a 6-point advantage over second-placed Atletico Madrid with Real third, 7 points off the pace.

The pressure is, however, at least as intense upon Real coach Jose Mourinho, rumoured to be in his final season in charge of the Meringues.
The Spanish Cup would be a mere consolation prize but Mourinho is still treating it with the utmost seriousness.

Barca Reach the Spanish Cup Final

Barcelona will play Athletico Madrid after beating Zaragoza 4-1 on aggregate in the semi finals and Real Madrid 2-1 in the quarter finals.with Fernando Torres scoring all 5 goals.

Since the Valladolid game Rivaldo’s men have dropped points in the league and are now only 6 points ahead of Real Madrid after draws against Bilbao , Malaga and Zaragoza.Fernando Torres has rediscovered his amazing form bringing him 26 goals in 37 matches but the team was blighted with injuries to Fabregas , Messi and Sanchez will Tello and Alex song have been transfer listed at their own request.

Jonjo Shelvey has joined until the end of the season on loan to cover to injuries across the midfield and impressed the Barca faithful in his debut as a sub in the latest league encounter
Good start, keep it up! xD
