North London turning white?

Spurs have done the double over their fierce rivals Arsenal following their 3-1 victory over the gunners, but this time at white hart lane. Arsenal were looking for revenge following their embarrassing defeat in front of 60,000 thousand Arsenal fans. Tottenham however were looking to the double over Arsenal by winning the capital one cup quarter final.

Ahead of this game, their was a lot of controversy following Gareth Bale's post match interview after the first North London Derby of the season. Arsenal fans were livid with the Welshman, meanwhile Tottenham fans were ecstatic with him. When Bale was still at Southampton, both Spurs and Arsenal wanted him but he ended up signing for Spurs as a left back, since then he has evolved into a world class winger and has been compared to the likes of Ronaldo.

Arsenal would have been hoping that the capital one cup would be the trophy to end their trophy drought, but Tottenahm were there to crush their dreams. Before the match there was reportedly another bust up between Bale and Wilshere, with Bale calling the gunner a "dwarf" following their last bust up. Wilshere is said to replied by saying "how you doing monkey boy?" The two squared up but were quickly separated. It was clear that nobody wanted to lose this game.

Tottenham started the game well and took the lead in the 7th minute due to a Steven Caulker goal. From this point on-wards the fans were heard chanting "Stand up, if you hate Arsenal, Stand up, if you hate Arsenal". The chants seemed to fire up not only Tottenham but Arsenal too as they upped their game a level. Unfortunately for the gunners, Jan Vertonghen scored a cracking effort in the 37th minute to double Tottenham's lead. Arsenal went into the break losing 2-0. As the second half started Arsenal came out strongly, and eventually scoring through Mikel Arteta in the 48th minute. From this point on-wards Arsenal started pressing looking for the all important equalizer. Arsenal had some very good chances and were playing beautiful football but then, the game was killed and put to bed. Who else to score the goal to send Arsenal out of the cup, than Emmanuel Adebayor. The final score Tottenham 3, Arsenal 1.

Alongside with this victory, Tottenham have successfully qualified for the first knockout stage of the Europa League following a 1-1 draw with Lazio, seeing Spurs finish top of the group with 10 points. Spurs suffered there first defeat, following a 1-0 defeat to United at Old Trafford. All in all November was a very good month for the North London side.

Brilliant run of form, must feel good to hammer your favourite team eh? :P

Merry Christmas!

Tottenham enjoyed Christmas day and the whole of December as they continued their good run of form. The North London side were unbeaten throughout the month and proved to many that they are definitely title contenders.

Spurs qualified for the first knockout round of the Europa League and will now face Rubin Kazan, the side from Russia. Tottenham finished their group with 10 points after 6 matches. This is one competition Tottenham are favourites to win but Rubin Kazan will not be a walk in the park.

In the premier league Tottenham won 5 games and drew three games. Teddy Sheringham will be a bit concerned about his teams habit of drawing games. Man City are only three points behind Spurs and so the title race is far from over. Injuries have really affected Spurs as Vertonghen, Demebele, and Naughton.

Player of the month

The Tottenham player of the month is.... Steven Caulker! The 21 year old was exceptional for Tottenham both when defending and attacking. Caulker is slowly becoming a regular member of the first team, being played ahead of Dawson. The Brit has a very bright future ahead of him.
