Montanier sacked by Sociedad

Today, French manager Philippe Montanier has been relieved of his duties at the helm of Real Sociedad, last season Sociedad finished 12th in the Liga BBVA and in the eyes of the chairman this was not good enough, Montanier has only been the boss at Sociedad since June 2011, but has struggled to make much of an impact since arrival.

The next manager to arrive at the Anoeta Stadium is expected to be announced in the coming week, with bookies making Roberto Martinez from Wigan the favorite.

Sociedad sign Francis Coquelin on loan

http://i44.tinypic.com/2nvttzr.jpg

Real Sociedad have announced than French midfielder Francis Coquelin will be joining the club on loan from Arsenal, after a lot of complaints from Sociedad fans about the lack of transfer activity from Sanz, he issued this response on the club website,

'Firstly, I would like to welcome new signing Francis Coquelin to the club, he will only be spending the year with us here, however I am sure that he will make a positive impact during his time, he is a good solid midfielder with an excellent passing range, and I am sure he will slot into the team when he is needed, I am more than happy with the current squad I have, and I can assure those fans who are concerned about the lack of signings that we will have a successful season with the current squad and we will not be signing players that are not needed at this moment.

Coquelin will be spending the entire season at Sociedad, with the club paying 50% of his £10,500 contract at Arsenal, and without paying Arsenal a monthly fee.

Coquelin is a good signing. Really helpful in my Arsenal story because he's super versatile and buts in decent performances everywhere on the field. Inigo Martinez will have Barcelona knocking on your door!
