Arsene Wenger Sacked

The Arsenal board have today announced that they have sacked Arsene Wenger from his managerial duties at Arsenal Football Club. Wenger who has been the Arsenal boss since 1996 after joining from Nagoya Grampus Eight has been a surprising success at the Gunners. Wenger has won numourous league titles, a league and domestic cup double, a Champions League runners up medal and Euro Cup runners up medal, also he lead Arsenal to the be the first Premier League side to go the full season unbeaten and win the league.
On the downside Wenger has been criticized for his transfer policy, spending little money despite the club making huge profits and selling top stars such as Fabregas and Van Persie.
The Arsenal Board have refused to comment at this moment in time on the decision.

Ljungberg Hired

Arsenal legend Fredrik Ljunberg, who spent 7 years playing at the club making 216 apps and scoring 46 goals, has been announced as the new man to take on the managerial job. He retired from playing football on the 24th August 2012 after his spell with Shimizu S-pulse, he then became a ambassador for the Premier League. This is Ljungberg's first spell in management which has caused a stir among some Arsenal supporters, however the majority are excited to see what a legend can bring to them. Ljungberg said in his first interview earlier that he "couldn't believe that Arsenal approached him and it took a split second to say yes".

West Ham have a new affiliation with Arsenal

Ljungberg Affiliates Old Clubs

Fredrik Ljungberg has used his contacts from his previous clubs by creating affiliations with Seattle, Celtic and West Ham. All affiliations have the same terms, scouting knowledge is shared between both clubs, Arsenal have the first option to buy players and all players can move on loan to and from Arsenal. All deals are permanent while Ljungberg is in charge and will benefit the club greatly.

Arsenal Clear Out Dead Wood

New boss Fredrik Ljungberg has hit with a bang by selling 15 of his Arsenal first team players. He feels there were players with high value and high wages, but with little quality and he needed to bank in on them to get his transfer targets. Here are the sales:
Rosicky to French mega bucks PSG for £8m.
Chamakh to Russian billionaires Anji for £7m.
Denilson to Benitez's Napoli for £5m.
Fabianski to Liverpool for £5.25m.

Ljungberg Splashes The Cash

After raising huge quantities of money from selling 15 players, Ljungberg had a large amount of money added to his original transfer budget to spend on new stars. Within a month this money was completely spent on key players. Here are the buys:
Fellaini, the huge, afro haired midfielder from Everton, has been captured for £25m as Man United and Chelsea raised the bids from £20m. Fellaini will partner Arteta in Arsenal's midfield.
Lewandowski, the inform defensive striker from Dortmund, has been bought for a record fee of £37m! A fee of £30m was trying to be agreed but late bids from Real Madrid, Chelsea and Man City increased his value and Ljungberg did excellently to beat off the opposition to his signature.
Dede, the young promising center-back from Vasco has been brought in for a huge £20m. The player as good as he is, wasn't expected to be bought for such a high fee but Vasco were holding out for the fee and Man City had already bid £18m for the player. A great player for Arsenals future for sure.
Tello, the young hot prospect from Barcalona has been snatched for £8.75m. The winger has had rave reviews from top Sky presenters and former Barcalona stars such as Ronaldinho and will be a world class player in the future for Arsenal.
Baines, a left back was needed for the squad after Monreal was sold only leaving youngster Gibbs in the squad. A fee of £20m was needed to prize him away from Everton and the England left back will bolster Arsenals back four for the upcoming season.
Isco, the final transfer of the spree was the £30m young Spanish star who looks to have the potential to be one of the worlds best attacking mids.
Some nice transfers. Looking depleted for depth though :P

Tactics

Ljungberg has revealed today in his press conference he will tell his team to play attacking fluid football at a high tempo. Players will be free to roam on the pitch to allow the play to flow.
The Arsenal legend will play 4 at the back including two fullbacks.
2 central midfielders who will defend and win the ball while attacking on the counter.
3 attacking midfielders including a central advanced play maker and on either side to inside forwards.
Meanwhile having one attacking forward up front.

Ljungberg also revealed his likely line up to the season.
Szczesny will be the number one in front of Mannone.
Baines and Sagna will be the main full backs with Gibbs as back up.
Vermaelen and Mertesacker will be starting center backs with Dede rotating and Koscielny back up.
Fellaini and Arteta will be central midfielders with Ramsey as a backup.
Wilshere, Cazorla and Isco will be attacking midfielders with the Ox and Tello allowing for wider play as back up.
Lewandowski will be the main man up front with Walcott as his replacement.
Koscielny > Vermaelen. But sounds good, good luck! :)

Another Legend Returns

Freddie Ljungberg today announced he has brought back another Arsenal legend and friend in Robert Pires. Pires was currently out of contract and has been brought in on a free transfer. Pires will be on a 1 year deal at £1k per week. In consideration of his age Ljungberg believed that getting him as a player will make it easier to hire him as a coach once he has retired. The Arsenal fans aren't too pleased to have Pires back as a player at his age but are happy with Ljungberg's reasoning of wanting him to be a coach.

Champions League Group Draw

Arsenal are seeded 1st for the draw

Group B

Arsenal have seeded Valencia, Anderlecht and BATE. Arsenal are favourites to win the group and are expected to reach the semi finals of the competition. Ljungberg is said to be secretly very pleased with his group.
A good group and a great start to this story, i'll be following it for sure. Looks like your signings settled in well straight away, lucky you :P
