OVERVIEW
The main objective towards the business end of the save will be to have a completely home-grown Swansea made team, who will win the Treble.

This will be achieved through a few steps;
  • Bringing in quality players to challenge for EPL title
  • Gain European qualification
  • Gain continental reputation
  • Breeding high quality youth players
  • Winning the Treble

PRE-SEASON

Transfer News

Burdisso comes in as a young and very talented CB to strengthen our already amazing defence. He will definitely be around for the long term. Jelle Vossen and Marco Sau are two quality strikers who were brought in on the cheap, giving us a much more in-depth and quality strike force as what was currently at the club was sub-par. Victor Wanyama is a high-profile CM, and really adds something extra to the team. With these four signings, I truly believe we can push for a top half finish.

Some good results against some really poor opposition, probably upon reflection this was not the best preparation possible, but only time will tell.

TRANSFER NEWS

http://i928.photobucket.com/albums/ad124/mvanegmond04/transfers_zpse37c4440.png
After sustaining an injury to Angel Rangel against Bournemouth, it became apparent our Right Back stocks were lacking, so I brought in cover for him through Inter's Jonathan, a brilliant RB himself. Vaclav Kadlec was brought in as a last minute signing, as earlier in the save, I was not able to sign Lazar Markovic, a youth I really wanted to develop, so with such little transfer fee and the fact I could get him a work permit, I signed Kadlec, hoping to train him into an Advanced Playmaker role.

Swansea 2-0 Newcastle United
No better way to start the season, with goals from two of our new signings. We dominated the game, and was very glad to come away with a strong result on the back of a weak pre-season.
Aston Villa 0-1 Swansea
To say we dominated is an understatement and we were very unlucky to have just scored the one from Jelle Vossen. With two in two games, already looking like an impressive signing.
Swansea 2-1 Bournemouth
We dominated early play, all over Bournemouth with Michu scoring two good goals giving us that early advantage. However with Bournemouth's goal just before Half-Time, they came out in the second half much stronger and hungrier for that result. To be completely, the stats seem to lie, and we were lucky to come out of this with a win. But considering all our early chances, it could have easily been alot more.
Swansea 1-0 West Ham
We were all over West Ham, completely running the show, should have been more than the single Michu goal.
Fulham 1-1 Swansea
This result really worried me as this is a team we should be beating as we have done with those before them. The fact we allowed them into the game so much is disappointing, and with us versing Arsenal, Tottenham, Man Utd and Liverpool in the next five games, securing all three points should have been seen as vital. Ultimately it was a stupid penalty given away by Burdisso that lost the 3 points.
This is going to be one hell of a long term challenge, i wish you the best of luck sir... should be an interesting read :)
Good luck Mvan! Swansea are a good team :) Nathan Dyer is underrated

RESULTS

Arsenal 4-1 Swansea
After being 1-0 up till the 70th minute, I had honestly thought we could have won the game, but a quickfire 3 goals in 10 minutes saw Arsenal simply push us out the way. A very disappointing result.

Tottenham 4-2 Swansea
This was an extremely scrappy game, painful to watch at time. Vorm was an absolute mess, he was all over the place.

Swansea 2-1 Southampton
We dominated most of the game, yet scoring only in the second half. With Southampton's late goal, we just played completely defensively after it.

Swansea 0-7 Manchester United
I honestly have no idea what the hell went on here. Vorm had another shocking game, coming out way to far for most things. To lose this heavily, and at home aswell was just completely disgraceful, and I made sure I told the team that.

Liverpool 3-0 Swansea
Completely dominated by Assaidi, we were always in the game till the end. Just the speed and quality of Liverpool's counter attacks were the death of us. This game has put second thoughts into my mind about Vorm, and im seriously considering benching him in the next couple of games.
Is only Vorm doing badly?

No, but when he makes a mistake, it obviously always resulting in a goal. The defence will often make mistakes, but this is sometimes due to Vorm's distribution.

At the moment, im just going to use our second GK. Once its the off-season, ill definitely be looking for a new GK.
Ouch that month looks like it hurt!
Have you considered realigning your defence to provide more ready cover for your Keeper, if they are getting through to him to make that many mistakes then there is a deeper issue as Vorm is generally a decent goalie.

Good luck next month, i'm sure it is just a blip :)
