Bergkamp Joins Crawley

In what comes as a shock to many fans across the world Dennis Bergkamp has been appointed as manager of Crawley Town. The 43 year old had applied for the job and was accepted by the board and will lead the club on a one year contract. The Dutchman was expected to go into management at some stage and will want to have a good start to his new career and want to impress at his new club.
“It is an honour to be here”, said Bergkamp. “I am delighted that the club took the risk and hired me and it is a dream come true for me. Since I joined Ajax as a coach I have never looked back and I want to make a good impression at Crawley. It is a great club and I am excited to build something big here and I look forward to many years with the team”.
A statement was also made by the board at the club and they announced their backing of their new manager.
“We are delighted to have Dennis on board and we look forward to many years of success with a legend in charge of our club. We will support him 100% and we want him to continue the recent success of this club and have a winning team”.
Dennis will have his work cut out as Crawley are 20/1 to go up but he needs to get points against the top teams to stand any chance of promotion.

The First Day

I headed to Boradfield stadium to meet with the squad for first time. I wanted to tell them about ideas on how I want them to play and how I want to move the club forward. I wanted to tell them straight were we needed to strengthen in the summer and also what tactics I will play with the team.
The squad had just been promoted so I don’t think it is ready just yet. We need to bring in six faces for the team to finish in the top half so we needed 2 in each position. We had some good players in the team already and we are predicted to finish 18th in the league. That is respectable but I believe 12+ is more ambitious for us. I analysed the squad and found that these 3 players will be key for us to have a good season.
I have only got a small budget to work with but talks are amassing that a takeover bid from middle eastern investors may be on the cards but for now I have to work with what I have.

Crawley Town FC Takeover?

Crawley Town are rumoured to be under a takeover bid from a foreign investor. The club are on the rise after a lot of investment already but more money could be pumped into the club for new manager Dennis Bergkamp to spend and make a great team. It has only been days since Bergkamp took over and the club are already back in the news. Crawley are one of the most up and coming teams in the country and further investment will more than likely propel the club up the divisions. It is not known who has made a bid to take over the club but this has spilt fans as some are excited about this news but others are worried that it may disturb the clubs pre season.
