Day 19: Time for Manchester?

Finally, the two top spots are occcupied by the two Manchester rivals. Only six goals separate the Citizens from the Red Devils. City had the most difficult calendar with games against
Arsenal and Liverpool. They eventually took 4 points from this two fixtures and made it 10 with wins over Palace and Fulham.
United won against Villa, West Ham and Norwich but couldn't make it 4 wins out of 4 with a
draw against Hull City.
The Tigers finished the year with their
new manager Tony Pullis on a positive form, taking eight points out twelve. Tony's first game in charge was against former club Stoke and was a goaless draw. There were then victories against West Brom and Fulham and this game against United. Hull is still bottom of the league and
the gap is of eight points with Cardiff (17th) but there is now hope.
Coming back at the top, Chelsea also have their hope. Hope that they can continue to
challenge the Manchester clubs for the title. They lost the first place on the 17th day, after a 2-2 draw with
Arsenal. But they regain it on Boxing Day by beating Swansea (3-1) when the two Manchester clubs drew against Hull and Liverpool. Unfortunately the Blues couldn't hold that lead for much longer after Liverpool visited Stamford Bridge (2-2).
For Liverpool, this was their
5th point in 4 games. Not a great way to end the year but Sunderland poor form helped the the Red moving into European places. They are one point behind Spurs who didn't have a great end to the year either, losing two of their four games but
beating Liverpool at home.
Everton who were four points behind them last time made a good opperation and with three victories there are only beaten by goals difference by their city rivals. Behind them it's Sunderland who in their case made a pretty bad opperation with only
one point out of 12. Premier League leaders two months ago, the Black Cats great run appears to have slowed and historic rivals Newcastle his only three points behind them. The two clubs staited that their objective was to
finhish above the other.
An other team surprisingly gained only one point. It was
Arsene Wenger's Arsenal and the gaffer is more than ever reported
out before the end of the season. Arsenal is
11th and lost their two last games against West-Ham and Newcastle.
