Day 5: 100% for City, 0% for Hull and Aston Villa

http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/the91stminute/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/city-fans-8767.jpg

Manuel Pellegrini made immediate effect at Manchester City and after five games he is loved by fans especially for yesterday 3-1 victory over Manchester United. Before this game City beat Newcastle, Cardiff, Hull City and Stoke without any problems, except the injury of Yaya Toure. New striker Stefan Jovetic combines very well with Aguero (three goals each) but it's Nasri who was August player of the month with 4 assists and goal in two games.

Three points behind, it's surprinsingly Sunderland. Paolo Di Canio's men have a attack combining very well so far and they proved it against Arsenal (3-1) or Southampton (4-0).
Third placed is Liverpool with two draws and three victories, the biggest one against Manchester United (3-2).

Three teams still havn't won a game, they are Hull City and Aston Villa who lost all there game and Swansea.

The Big Games so far:
Arsenal 3 Tottenham 0
Liverpool 3 Manchester United 2
Everton 1 Chelsea 0
Chelsea 6 Fulham 1
Manchester City 3 Manchester United 1

Day 10: The Top 4?...behind Sunderland!

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/05/26/article-0-0513DA6D000005DC-359_468x328.jpg

We are now in November and Sunderland is top of the league! The Black Cats lost only one game this season, winning eight. They beat the likes of Arsenal (3-1), Manchester United (1-0) and Newcastle (4-1), and will face Manchester City next week.

The Citizens, who won their five first games, drew with Aston Villa (2-2) and lost to Everton (1-0) after beating Manchester United. Since then they scored heigt goals against West Ham and Norwich, and drew with Chelsea (2-2).

If City fail to be beat the league leaders, Manchester United could take advantage of that by beating Arsenal. The Red Devils won 4 of their last 5 games, only losing to Sunderland.

Then Chelsea, Tottenham and Everton are tied with 19 points. Of them all it's the Toffees who had the best progression on the last 5 games, winning 12 point out of 15 (only Sunderland did better).

Swansea manage to gain 10 points and is out of the last three-spots. Hull City is last with one point (after the 2-2 drew with West Ham).

The Big Games

Tottenham 0 Chelsea 1
Manchester City 0 Everton 1
Chelsea 2 Manchester City 2
Arsenal 2 Liverpool 1
Everton 2 Tottenham 1

Best Progression

Sunderland - 13 points
Everton, Manchester United - 12 points
Swansea, Chelsea - 10 points

Worst record

Hull City, Cardiff - 1 point
West Brom - 2 points
Liverpool - 4 points
Interesting idea!

Day 15: Chelsea takes the commands

José Mourinho's Chelsea is at the top of the Premier League for the first time since The Special One returned. Edinson Cavani who joined the Blues in July finaly started scoring and Sunderland finally stopped scoring and with only five points out of 15 they are down to the 5th place.

The Black Cats lost their lead when beaten by Manchester City (1-0)and are unlucky to go down the table so quickly because they had decent results since (draw with Spurs and Stoke, won at Villa, lost to Chelsea).

But it's a very tight league so far and there is only 4 points between Chelsea and 6th placed Liverpool. The Reds manage 15 points out of 15, this is 11 points more than last time. They won at Everton, who is 7th just ahead of Arsenal and newly promoted Crystal Palace.
It's also very tight at the bottom of the table with 7 teams (from 13th to 19th) tied in 2 points.
Finally Hull City seems destinated to go back two Npower Championship. They still havn't won a game there is now a 12 points gap with 17th placed Southampton (Hull goals average is also very bad).

The Big Games

Manchester United 1 Arsenal 0
Sunderland 0 Man City 1
Arsenal 5 Southampton 1
Everton 2 Liverpool 3
Man City 1 Tottenham 1
Tottenham 3 Man Utd 1
Sunderland 2 Chelsea 3
Arsenal 0 Everton 3
Sunderland 0 Tottenham 0

Best Record

Liverpool - 15/15

Worst record

Hull City, Cardiff, Fulham - 1 point

Day 19: Time for Manchester?

http://redflagflyinghigh.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/fans2.jpg

Finally, the two top spots are occcupied by the two Manchester rivals. Only six goals separate the Citizens from the Red Devils. City had the most difficult calendar with games against Arsenal and Liverpool. They eventually took 4 points from this two fixtures and made it 10 with wins over Palace and Fulham.
United won against Villa, West Ham and Norwich but couldn't make it 4 wins out of 4 with a draw against Hull City.

The Tigers finished the year with their new manager Tony Pullis on a positive form, taking eight points out twelve. Tony's first game in charge was against former club Stoke and was a goaless draw. There were then victories against West Brom and Fulham and this game against United. Hull is still bottom of the league and the gap is of eight points with Cardiff (17th) but there is now hope.

Coming back at the top, Chelsea also have their hope. Hope that they can continue to challenge the Manchester clubs for the title. They lost the first place on the 17th day, after a 2-2 draw with Arsenal. But they regain it on Boxing Day by beating Swansea (3-1) when the two Manchester clubs drew against Hull and Liverpool. Unfortunately the Blues couldn't hold that lead for much longer after Liverpool visited Stamford Bridge (2-2).

For Liverpool, this was their 5th point in 4 games. Not a great way to end the year but Sunderland poor form helped the the Red moving into European places. They are one point behind Spurs who didn't have a great end to the year either, losing two of their four games but beating Liverpool at home.

Everton who were four points behind them last time made a good opperation and with three victories there are only beaten by goals difference by their city rivals. Behind them it's Sunderland who in their case made a pretty bad opperation with only one point out of 12. Premier League leaders two months ago, the Black Cats great run appears to have slowed and historic rivals Newcastle his only three points behind them. The two clubs staited that their objective was to finhish above the other.

An other team surprisingly gained only one point. It was Arsene Wenger's Arsenal and the gaffer is more than ever reported out before the end of the season. Arsenal is 11th and lost their two last games against West-Ham and Newcastle.

The Big Games

Man City 3 Arsenal 1
Tottenham 3 Liverpool 2
Arsenal 2 Chelsea 2
Hull City 1 Man Utd 1
Man City 2 Liverpool 2
Chelsea 2 Liverpool 2

Best Record

Manchester City, Manchester United - 10/12 points

Worst record

Sunderland, Fulham, Arsenal - 1 point

Day 25: Liverpool fans dream of Champions League

http://api.ning.com/files/w5njphAsA5jR34HfkuWnoYlorP6gEIk1rfYnf9wJnI5cxtcyhLDdBKIYFqdD6Bfk/LiverpoolChinkis4.jpg

A bit more than four years after their last Champions League campain, Liverpool FC seems in great postion to come back to the European top level. The 2005 Champions League winner is now six point ahead of 5th placed Tottenham, who are the last team to have beaten them on the 14th of December. Since then the Reds won five of their eight games.

Can the Reds hope higher than 4th place? Third is highly conceivable as Chelsea is only three points behind but challenging the two Manchester sides for the title will be a very hard task. City only lost to Swansea, beating Tottenham and Chelsea afterwards, while United lost away to Chelsea but beat Spurs.

Chelsea's chances of title were not only compromised by the game lost against City but also by a surprising defeat at Southampton.

Everton also won nine points in their last six games and they can hope for an Europa League place, being only one point behind Tottenham. Sunderland who managed a better run of games is also still in the race, as Arsenal who managed 14 points out of 18.

The three relegated teams for now are Hull, Stoke and West Ham but several teams are battling to stay up.

The Big Games

Manchester United 3 Tottenham 1
Chelsea 2 Manchester United 1
Liverpool 2 Everton 1
Tottenham 0 Man City 2
Man City 3 Chelsea 1
Liverpool 1 Arsenal 1

Top Goalscorers

Sergio Aguero - Manchester City - 13 goals
Robin Van Persie - Manchester United - 13 goals

Steven Fletcher - Sunderland - 11 goals
Clint Dempsey - Tottenham - 11 goals
Romelu Lukaku - Chelsea - 11 goals

Thanks m8.

Day 30: United win the clash and take the lead

http://www.thenewstribe.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Man-U-vs-Man-City-1.jpg

Manchester United is finally Premier League unique leader, thanks to a win over rivals City. Van Persie scored a hat-trick, the last goal coming at the 99th minute when the score was 2-2. City won all their other games including a 4-0 over Sunderland but United 100% record was better. And it was an easy won as the Red Devils also played Arsenal and Liverpool.

But the game that we will talk of now was between Gunners and Spurs. Two months ago, Arsenal was 10 points away of Champions League and losing against Tottenham would have keept them 9 points off. And at half-time the score at the Emirate Stadium was of two goals to nil for the away side, but French striker Olivier Giroud came on and scored his 4th, 5th and 6th goals of the season between the 74th and 86th minute to move up Arsenal to the 7th place, six points behind Liverpool and three behind Tottenham.

Everton is 6th but already qualified for Europa League by beating West Brom in the League Cup final (2-1 after extra-time). However for Sunderland, European hopes seems to have definitely vanished, losing their last five games (including 4-0 vs City ; 3-0 vs Arsenal ; 1-0 vs Liverpool).

Down the table every teams can hope of staying in the top division next year, even Hull (two points at the start of December) who won 10 points out of 15 and his now leveled with Fulham and West Ham at 24 points. Stoke is bottom with 21 points.

The Big Games

Arsenal 2 Man Utd 3
Man Utd 3 Man City 2
Chelsea 1 Tottenham 1
Man Utd 3 Liverpool 1
Arsenal 3 Tottenham 2

Top Goalscorers

Robin Van Persie - Manchester United - 16 goals (Last 5 games: +3)

Sergio Aguero - Manchester City - 14 goals (+1)

Edinson Cavani - Chelsea - 12 goals (+4)

Day 35: Everton just in time for City?!

David Moyes former club beat Manchester United 3-1 at Goodison Park, and the Red Devils see the top spot slip to the hands of their city rivals with three games to play.

The Title Battle:

For the third consecutive year it's between the two Manchesters. And with three games remaning City are on the top by goal difference (+10). City will finish with games against Crystal Palace, Everton and West Ham, and Manchester United against Norwich, Sunderland and Southampton. Who do you think will win? Tell us!

The fight for Champions League:

It's hard seeing Chelsea finish in the top 2 and it's very close to impossible that they lose their third spot. It's also very, very tough for Everton coming back on Spurs and Liverpool but this two sides are having a great fight over this place. Tottenham didn't manage to overtake Liverpool for months but their are only 4 goals behind on average. The Spurs will have to play Stoke, West Ham and Villa while the reds will have games against Chelsea, Palace and Newcastle. Who will qualify for Champions League? Tell us!

Who will be in Europa League?

Everton already have their place (League Cup), and one of Tottenham or Liverpool while have the league spot. The other place will be for the F.A Cup winner who could be Arsenal (finally a title? And would it save the season) or Fulham (didn't win a league game fot 3 months). Who will FA Cup? Tell us!

The Tyne–Wear derby:

The two teams promised to their fans that they will finished above the other and for now it's Newcastle who is fulfilling the promise. They are two points above Sunderland (six points behind 5 games ago!) but wile play Arsenal and Liverpool in their last three games while Sunderland will have fixtures against the two Welsh clubs, Cardiff and Swansea, and Manchester United.

Already in holiday!

Crysal Palace and Cardiff (Championship clubs last year!) or West Bromwich, Swansea and Southampton will have peacefull end of season without any tension.

Relegation threat:

No one is officialy going down with three games left and it's still pretty close. Norwich is expected not to have to much problem and Aston Villa seems in good position too. Stoke have the best form out of all the contenders and Hull who were in the last three places every weeks since the first of the season and the 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, is really better since changing manager and Tony Pullis should stay even if the club go back to Npower Championship. Who will go down? Tell us!

The Big Games

Chelsea 2 Arsenal 1
Arsenal 1 Man City 1
Liverpool 2 Tottenham 0
Newcastle 2 Man Utd 2
Liverpool 2 Man City 3
Everton 3 Man Utd 1

Top Goalscorers

Robin Van Persie - Manchester United - 17 goals (Last 5 games: +1)

Sergio Aguero - Manchester City - 16 goals (+2)

Edinson Cavani - Chelsea - 12 goals (+4)
