September Review

A hugely successful month for the club. We've managed to build on our early season performances and really push the club up the league table. The boys are really starting to gel and we're starting to see some absolutely brilliant performances from the team.

We've had a few tricky ties this month, with having to face the top of the table team twice (First Salisbury at home who were top until we drew with them, and then Eastleigh away who overtook Salisbury after our draw). But we've remained unbeaten, even with a packed schedule of six fixtures in a month. We've progressed to the third qualifying round in the FA Cup and we've risen to first in the Blue Square South. We can solidify our lead and make the lead position our own, but we need to keep our focus and ensure our boys remain fit and healthy.

Off the Field
Some good news to report off the field. We've managed to agree a deal with the board to also upgrade our training facilities at the end of the season. The training facilities are pretty dire and in desperate need of attention, so this is a welcome piece of news and will benefit the club immensely.

We've also started re-training Elliott Legg as a Right-sided Wing Back. He's been filling in the role for us already, despite not being completely comfortable in the position. I hope the training focus on his new role will help him develop even further and improve on his already fantastic form.

Transfers
We've not made any moves in the transfer market this month. Like I've mentioned before, finances are tight and I don't want to jeopardise the future of the club by bringing in too many players when we need to sustain our current status first and foremost. We are monitoring one or two prospects, but I'm not ready to make any definitive offers at the moment and I'm happy with how the boys have been conducting themselves.

On the Field
The results have been fantastic this month. We've been faced with a very busy and packed schedule, a total of six fixtures in the space of a month. Happily I can report that we've remained unbeaten for the entire month, rising from 6th to 1st in the league and progressing to the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.
Although the FA Cup Qualifying rounds have (so far) been against Amateur teams, it's important not to underestimate the importance of these fixtures. A good run in the FA Cup will generate a good amount of revenue and leave us in a very strong position to advance our club.

Player of the Month
This been a particularly tough one to call. There have been great performances across the entire team and this is reflected in our fantastic set of results.
Both Allan Kimbaloula and Kwame Thomas have played above and beyond early expectations and both have been very important to the team.

With five goals, two assist and two Man of the Match awards. My player of the month award for September goes to Kwame Thomas. Keep up the good work!

Just a heads up, the PotM video is something I was just messing around with...it took a lot of time for what turned out to be a fairly crude edit (Sorry, first time really editing anything!)

Depending on the feedback I may/may not decide to run it again!

Enjoy!
October update is on the way (If anyone has even read this one, lol!)
