Sami Hyypia held a press conference today and announced his retirement as manager of Bayer Leverkusen.

Sami Hyypia:
"As of today I presented my resignation to Rudi Voller. My ideas did not match the club's ideas and we cannot work like this. I insisted not to sell Andre Schurrle and they did not listen to me. I feal that here i cannot achieve the performances i want and i can't work in tension.

I wish them all the best in Bundesliga and Champions League. Good bye!!!

Bayer Leverkuse sporting director, Rudi Voller, will now be looking for a new manager. The press is already speculating a few names that can fill the vacant position.

Bayer Leverkusen director and Felix Magath were spoted together at a social gathering and everyone is expecting that former Schalke and Wolfsburg manager will tke over at Bayer 04.

Rudi Voller managed to surprise everyone this morning as he announced in an interview at Bayer TV the appointment of former U-23 squad, Jurgen Muller.

He motivated his decision by saing that Muller has been with the club for a long time, he knows how we think here and he agreed immediately.

Later Jurgen Muller held he's first training session with the players. He met with with everyone of them and he decided the players that will remain in the first team for the upcoming season.
