Hi there FMSCOUT users and welcome to my Journey Man series. In this story I will attempt to show the highs and the lows of being a football manager. I know that it will be tough and I know I will struggle but I feel that this is a good decision for me as a writer and as a player of FM. I intend to keep this going for a long time and all I am asking for is your support as a community.

I will start off with a rep of Sunday League footballer and I will start unemployed. If I am offered a job by a bigger club then I am currently at then I must accept it and move on. I intend to spend only 3-4 seasons MAX and one club so there will be some moving about. I have set my age at 25 so that I can keep the save going for a while. I intend to end up one day in charge of the biggest club in the world and when I am done there if I have time I will try and revisit all of my old clubs and do a better job than before.

I am looking forward to this and so should you guys. I feel I have developed well as a writer over the last 3-4 months and this could be the pinnacle of my writing. I don’t think I am as good as some users but I believe that I am capable to produce a well-structured and well written story for you guys.

Shout out to Kane who made the banner.
Good luck :)

New Beginnings

After years of hard work and many different coaching jobs I had finally done it. I had gained my Pro License and could start to coach professional footballers and become a great coach. But the problem was where I go from here. I had no job and money was tight. At 25 not many people would believe in me as a manager.

I have always believed in myself as a manger and I always knew I could make it to the top. Many managers fail and don’t really succeed. Many great managers don’t win much at all but you are judged on the trophies you win. I had my own system and my own view on how a football club should be run. I believe in youth and that they must reach their potential or else in my mind they are deemed a failure, even if they are not going to be great they must reach their peak.
I had studied for my badges for 7 years now after many years playing Football Manager I realised that I needed to go and do the real thing. Many people think the people who play the game are sad and geeky but there is a whole community around the game and I made many good friends from it. It has cost me a lot of money to pay for the courses but now I need it to pay off and to do that I must find a job. So I went online to the football version on JobCenterPlus and I scouted around a few clubs.

Many teams popped up but no clubs really interested me at all. I was entering a bigger world than the one I had just stepped into. Many clubs will not take the risk in hiring me so I had to do what was best for me and that was to start from the bottom. There was some good manager less clubs around ranging from second division teams all the way down to the 6th tier in some countries. But not all jobs were in England. I knew I had to travel to make it to the top so I knew that I had to look abroad. Some teams looked good but some did not so all I could do was apply to all of them and just sit and wait……
A very good start to the story. It should be an interesting one to follow.
