Due to severe financial difficulties, Portsmouth have been removed from the football league. All staff and players have been released and are currently looking for new clubs. The decision did not come as much of a shock as it has been long known that their financial position has been far from secure.

It is unknown what team will replace Portsmouth. There are rumours that a veteran team is being built or a football superstar is recruiting a load of wonderkids. Only time will tell.

England legend David Beckham has created a new club based in London. It is likely this team will replace Portsmouth in League 1. The name of the team is unknown but Beckham released this statement:

"This club will concentrate on youth players. I will build a team of wonderkids and help them progress in their careers rather than them being loaned out or sat in the reserves. I will primarily focus on British youth but there will be a few oversees players as well"

The football league tweeted that they will be bringing some important news in the coming days and many are anticipating David Beckham's club being inducted into League 1. David better get a move on with the new season fast approaching.

David Beckham has announced the name of his new team, GoldenBallsFC. Also the club has been granted access to participate in nPower League 1, along with both domestic cups.

The team has started completely from scratch. No players, no staff and no fans. However many people in the London region are turning their attention to the team due to the young footballer it will use, many like the idea of producing home grown talent and progressing players' careers. David Beckham being the legend he is has somehow been granted permission by the FA to use Wembley as their home stadium. Also they us St. Georges Park as their training facilities. This measn the clubs has top training and youth facilities, along with a 90k seater stadium.


GoldenBallsFC have the facilities, they just need everything else. Beckham has said he will announce the manager in the coming days and he is also currently gathering some of the best staff in the business. With the start of the season just over a month away, the team need to get sorted.

David Beckham has announced that Sir Alex Ferguson will become the new manager of GoldenBallsFC. Also Man United legend Ryan Giggs will become player/assistant manager. Many are speculating why the pair left the Red Devils to join the league 1 team and some are saying its down to money. However the pair strongly deny this.

Sir Alex - "This club has a bright future and I want to be part of that. I have great respect for David and the ambitions of this club match mine"

Giggs - "There is no denying I am approaching the end of my career. I wanted a new challenge and David offered me this. Taking up a staff role as well as playing is something I've always wanted to do. I also feel I can act as a good mentor for the young players arriving. I will probably be the oldest by a good 15 or so years!"

These appointments have shown the true ambition Beckham has for this club and many are believing they could be a major force in football in the coming years.
