Genie Has Quit

Anyways,i can't understand all users being harsh to him,after all Genie Scout is his work,and he can do whatever he likes,no matter do we like that or not...It's his decision to share it for free or ask money for the tool. How come no one complains to SI for charging FM2009? Get the point? I think we should all be thankfull to Eugene for his work and leave the man alone in good manner,if he decide to quit.

well eugune is a person, of course he can do what he wants to do.

But it wasnt that he started a company etc.
It was a freeware tool which he himself decided to work on so much and give it free to users. and after around 2 years he gets greedy and wants money. Of course a lot of people will get angry.

And its an extra tool for the game, tell me any other game that you have to pay extra for a tool/cheat?

and the average for FM players is not that high, i mean especially when we are talking about cheating and stuff. Most young and new beginners use tools and cheats.

And thats why he got harsh criticisim because the average age of genie scout users is maybe around 15-17. and most of them cant pay extra money for things like that.

I respect the decision of Master Eygene but i have some questions......

1)Why this year make the Genie Scout 2009 without CA/PA?

2)If he want money its good to say 5,00 euro about the full version is a nice and correct amount for this programm

3)Eygene stop the program fro personal reasons? really?

4)Maybe some MAN IN BLACK from SEGA or Sports Interactive make a telefon or go in house of Eygene?and stop him.....to cheathing the game?

5)It is easy to someone ells to take the programm and to make playable for next season 2010?with eygene or without eygene's help?


This is my thouths and my questions....

I believe something.....dark hapened..maybe if me i live in athens and i think all around is not cleen and clear..

igotzy, if you look around you will find that there are already 1-2 good scout utilities. and they will be improved when 2010 arrives.

and read above posts and u will see that eugene stopped because he got harsh comments from users.

and cheating is allowed in such games. and this is not exactly called cheating even though i think it is.

lgotzy02 the only way someone could make GenieScout usable in 2010 would be if he released the source files of his project.
I agree with you RedArmy20 there are already good tools out there that will probably have a 2010 version, specially because of the framework created by Dr Bernard. I haven' looked at it(Im downloading vs2008 now) but I think it will be extremely helpfull to other progammers. drBernard thank you for releasing it as open source, thats the way to go! btw RedArmy20 since you are one of the admin's, wouldn't it be possible to create a forum section-other than Utilities&Tools- specially dedicated to progamers in wich they would be able to share ideas about the tools-like in sourceforge ? just a thought.

Tbh, i am with badboy. If you all put yourself in his place, the average of the general public would not bother spending so much time (I cant say how much as i have never made something like that, but it was probably at least 24 or so hours spread out, you can correct me if im wrong,) with getting no more than anyone else who just sat on their rear end and complained he was taking so long. Think back to your school, I bet that none of us could even be bothered to pend 48 hours on a project. You can say that thats cause its bouring, but just becaus football manager is fun doesnt mean he enjoys making that.

Hard to feel sorry for him, he didn't quite do it from scratch. He took on Nygreens baby voluntarily. Then after a couple of years wanted to charge for it and without (as far as i can tell) giving Nygreen any cash. From what I can gather he didn't even solve the problems that every other utility has, the sale values.

Putting my cynical hat on maybe he just couldn't be bothered with all the reverse engineering it would take or found out too late that he wouldn't be able to do it.

i dont know the whole story.. can anyone inform me?

Eugene is the producer of Genie Scout, this year he decided to charge some money for his program. This came from nowhere... Lots of people were pretty pissed about this and started giving him stick. He couldn't take all the criticism and decided to quit.

i can understand he may have thought he could cash in as soon as he released it because everybody has been flooding him with compliments for the past couple of years. but to think everybody would pay for the tool eventually was dumb of him

surely i wouldnt have reacted the way he did, taking the site offline and stop all support

he wanted money. for the worst version of his scout so far (no accurate sale values). and after the enormous time he took to release the scout for last edition. in the meantime, he was bettered by immune. he did well in quitting, and i'm not missing him.
