Raul looks to Portugal - As Europe looks to him

After sensationally being sacked by Sevilla just one week into his first managerial job, Raúl has been subject to many rumours about his career in the media over the past week. Many said he would move back to Al Sadd to resume his career in The Qatar top division; some said he would pursue a career in Management outside of Europe; possibly taking charge at Brazilian giant Corinthians. However Raúl was quick to diminish these rumours saying
" I do not plan to move back into playing, that time has passed and I will now look into management. I do not however want to move to South America to take charge at a club there, you see; football outside Europe is irrelevant. You go to Africa, you see a young boy, He will be wearing a Manchester United shirt, a Real Madrid shirt, an Arsenal shirt. He will not be wearing his local sides jersey. Despite this I do not plan to move to a second division side in England, Spain or Italy. I want to move to a lesser known country, but still to a top side; and that's the reason I sit in front of you today as the new manager of Sporting Lisbon!

Raúl confirmed as new manager of Portuguese giant Sporting Lisbon

Sporting have today released a statement confirming the appointment of new manager Raúl...
" We are today happy to announce the appointment of Raúl González Blanco as our new head coach; and we strongly believe he can take us to new heights."
It is unsure why Raúl has attracted so much attention from clubs around Europe due to the severe lack of experience he possesses, however only time will tell in what can only be described as a bizarre turn of events.

Sporting sign two Youngsters

Sporting officials have today announced the signing of two young starlets in young Ghanaian midfielder Paul Quaye signed from Spanish outfit Espanyol and the Mexico U20 star Carlos Fierro signed from Chivas.

Paul Quaye

Paul Quaye is regarded quite the coup for this Sporting side in the process of rebuilding; and the young defensive midfielder had attracted a £3.1 million bid from Spanish and World giants Real Madrid which was subsequently accepted from previous club Espanyol.
After Raul had heard of Los Blancos bid for the young 16 year old, he saw this as the ideal opportunity to make a mark on a European stage, to prove a point by denying Madrid of the player and after having a bid of £3.1 million accepted, it was only a matter of time until he became a Sporting player.

Carlos Fierro

Carlos Fierro is a far less known player than Quaye, and not many of people had heard of the young Mexican until his arrival in Lisbon. Critics have once again taken this as the ideal opportunity to question Raul; as Fierro is not the experience that the fans so desperately wanted but also has an awful record for previous club Chivas.
Sporting fans will be disappointed to hear that for Chivas, Fierro appeared 21 times on the pitch, and unfortunately didn't manage to score 1 goal.
It is clear that the new Sporting manager believes in investing in youth, although it is widely believed that he could go about this in a slightly less controversial way, instead of hijacking near to complete deals, and buying completely unknown players.

First of all I'd like to say welcome to the club Mr Raul!
Thank you, I look forward to having a long and successful career in management; I believe I can take what I learnt from being a player, and transfer that into my own person style.
In Portugal I presume?
Only time will tell. Football is football, and just looking at my one week in charge of that awful club from south Spain, you can tell that anything can happen.
Surely is would be more sensible to pledge your future to Lisbon?
You're right, that would be sensible. But sensible doesn't get you anywhere. While I am the manager of this club, I plan to do my best, I plan to take this club to the top of Portugal; and to the top of Europe. After that? I'm off to play with the big boys.
Porto and Benfica; name bigger clubs than them you ignorant man.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, Liverpool FC. That is all.
You haven't just placed doubt in every Sporting fans mind; but you have also slated the whole of Portuguese football. You sir will get no backing from the media.
Thank you for your consideration.

Pre Season

I had been appointed manager of Sporting Lisbon during the holiday season, and yes I may be an international super star but I am still entitled to an off season. Despite this I chose to pledge myself to the club; I didn't have a holiday, instead I set off to improve what I could already see was a poor side. From playing alongside Ronaldo, Beckham, and Roberto Carlos. To my star player being Van Wolfswinkel. Just thinking about what I would have to put up with over the course of the next year made me sick, but it was my first day at the office so I tried to make things work...
An hour later my assistant manager Oceano Cruz walked in; and the first topic of discussion was our pre season, and then came our first argument...
"What do you mean we don't have any pre season fixtures set?, I screamed, A game against our reserves isn't a pre season fixture you moron. Seeing as you're clearly incapable of doing one simple task, I shall arrange the fixtures myself. NOW GET OUT. STANDARDS MY FRIEND, STANDARDS!

Charlton, Grimsby, Cacem. Who on earth are they? You see this is the problem with having an incompetent little fool by your side, nothing goes to plan. I made enquiries to various monsters in the world of football, and every single time I got the same reply.
" Sorry, our fixture list is full ".
I guess playing three awful teams does have its positives though, we got three wins, three comfortable wins by comfortable margines. Not once did I congratulate my team though, they haven't won the league, they've managed to bully the smallest boys at school. That can by no means be considered an achievement. Not by my standards.
You screamed at Oceano? Paddy isn't going to be very happy ;)

Idiot should have arranged some pre season fixtures then;)
Also I hope no-one saw the first screenshot; put the first game of the season in it by accident.
