It's finally happened! Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers have been accepted into English Football. After several meetings and years of debate, the Glasgow rivals will both play next season in the Blue Square Bet Premier. Even more shockingly perhaps, Celtic manager Neil Lennon has resigned with immediate effect after signalling his intention to manage at a higher level.
However, Celtic have acted very swiftly in replacing him, appointing former player and ex-England international Ryan Chance as Lennon's successor. Speaking to the club's official website, 36-year-old Chance said "I'm delighed to be the manager of this wondeful football club at such an exciting time in it's history. It's nice to know that the fans wanted me to take them into the Premier League and that's exactly what I'll do."
Rangers manager Ally McCoist has committed himself to the club once again, admitting he isn't too dissapointed to see Neil Lennon resign as Celtic manager. In an interview with Sky Sports, McCoist said "No I'm not dissapointed, it has to be said. It's no secret we didn't get on and I'm looking forward to seeing how Ryan copes with no previous managerial experience. I certainly don't think it will be as easy as he expects it to be.."
