Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, commonly referred to as Spurs, is an English football club located in Tottenham, London, that plays in the Premier League. The club's home stadium is White Hart Lane.


What will I aim for? For a start, in my first season, I can do with a champions league finish, and next season with a top 3. But, within 5 years I hope to win either the BPL, Europa League or the Champions league. Lets go SPURS.

This is Skysports reporting live from Hotspurs way, Enfield, as Gary Lineker has just signed a one year deal with the north-London based team, Tottenham Hotspurs.

"Hello Gary, do you have a moment?"
I nodded firmly, and approached the reporter.
"As you have signed a managerial contract with the Spurs, can you let us know, what are your objectives for this season?"
"Well, my contract states that I must achieve Champions League football for next season, but personally, I do not mind a top three finish."
"If any, in the upcoming day, will we see any changes in staff and through-out the squad ranks?"
"Yes. Currently, eight staff members have left the team, including my assistant manager Steffen Freund. But, we have secured a total of 23 new staff members, such as Francisco Ayesteran, Gerd Muller, D'onofrio, Beenhakker."
"Thank you for your time Gary. We wish you a good spell as the Tottenham manager."

Tottenham Hotspurs announce four new signings, for a combined fee of 47.000.000 GBP. Following several links between the Spurs and Lyon's Argentinian Star, Lisandro Lopez, the move finally materialized, with the 29 years old striker joining the squad for a fee of 20.000.000 GBP, half of the money being spent upfront and the rest being paid through clauses.

Wigan youngster James McCarthy has also joined the north-London based side, for a fee of 8.750.000, as Lineker is ready to strengthen his midfield.
"Listen. I have the utmost confidence that McCarthy will step up for the club and will beautifully develop into one of the best players in the Premier League."

Neven Subotic and Douglas Costa have also joined the Spurs squad, for fees of 9.750.000 and 8.500.000 respectively, and are rumoured to be the replacements of William Gallas and Aaron Lennon.
"I have purchased these two for the first team, and that's where they will be. Lennon doesn't suit my style of play, so I brought in a younger player who fits it. Gallas was already too old, and, as we have sold him, we decided to bring in Neven Subotic, to pair up with Vertonghen and Kaboul."

Barclays Premier League season draws near as most sides have finished their friendlies.

Its thirteen august and we are close to the start of the season. Manchester United have been made favourites by the bookies to win the Premier League, closely followed by City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspurs. We're currently on Hotspurs way, Enfield, standing by Gary Lineker, the Tottenham headcoach.

"Gary, what is your view on the new season? Excited? Who do you consider title favourites?"
"Well, I can surely say I am excited. We are prepared, as we had a decent pre-season, with four wins, and a unlucky defeat against a strong Real Madrid side. There's never a title favourite, as I feel anyone can win the title."
"Alright.. thanks for your time Gary. This was Sky Sports reporting live from Enfield. Have a nice day!"

Nice start and layout and good transfers and fairly young

I hate Tottenham but I hope you do well with them in the story! I've only heard of Subotic so I can't judge your transfers, unfortunately. What are your planned tactics?

May depend. Usually 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 wide and in extreme cases 4-4-1-1. One striker upfront no matter what though.

And the season is finally underway as QPR vs Tottenham Hotspurs kicks off. Weather's pleasant down at Loftus Road.

Lineker is making his debut as a headcoach today, and will field a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Lopez starting upfront as a lone striker. Besides Lopez, Subotic and Douglas Costa are on the first team sheet for today, while McCarthy might come on as a substitution.

Both teams have a big amount of pace. Bosingwa misses a tackle on Gareth Bale and the welsh man is down right outside the box. Siggy steps up for the freekick. There's 25 yards between him and the goal and-... GOAL. Goal for Siggurosson as he delivers a curled shot in the top corner.

Spurs have an amount of chances but they fail to finish them.

Half time.

Second half kicks off, and QPR have a corner. The ball is headed high by Granero but Lloris catches ahold of it and Spurs fly on the counter. Bale lobs the ball beautifully and Lopez is one on one with the keeper-.. GOAL SPURS. Its a debut goal for Lopez!

There are ten minutes left, and QPR are on the attack. Remy passes the ball down to Zamora, who lays it fluently to Taarabt-.. GOAL QPR! The ex-Spurs man puts it past Lloris to claw one back. Its 2-1.

A good first result, with an interesting way to update.

Up next on Sky Sports 1, the North London side Tottenham Hotspurs will face Swansea. Bookies made Tottenham big favourites, and lets hope we're in for a nice game.

Sandro pushes the ball forward as he tackles Michu to the ground. Mccarthy lays a through pass to Bale, who dribbles Chico perfectly to score. 1-0 for Tottenham, what a great pass from McCarthy and a cool headed finish from Bale.

Swansea are lining up for the corner. Routledge kicks the ball towards the box, but Lloris punches the ball, and Tottenham are on the counter. Douglas Costa lobs it beautifully for Bale, who dazes through the heart of Swansea's defence, and lays it in the top corner for 2-0.

Half time, Spurs 2 Swansea 0

Tottenham are on the attack again, and Sigguroson launches the ball over the Swansea defence, for Lopez's run. He runs through and puts the ball past Vorm to make it 3-0 for Spurs.

Following the international matches, the Spurs welsh winger Gareth Bale will be out for the following month, following a clash in one of Wales's international matches. Also, Lisandro Lopez, who was brought as a replacement for injured Gonzalo Higuain, will miss out two weeks following an injury on his elbow in Argentina's match against Ecuador.

Tough losses for Lineker as Europa League groups are kicking off soon, and he'll need quite some squad depth to maintain his players fit throughout the campaign.

Oh when the Spuds go marching in....
