Neville's Italian Influx
Today on Sky Sports News we look at a newly rejuvenated Southampton squad and it's transfers in the run up to the kick-off of the Barclays Premier League.
Neville hasn't took long to start to spend the incredible 30m budget set by chairman Nicola Cortese and firstly brung in winger Rodrigo Taddei and young striker Gianluca Caprari for a combined fee of 5.6m from Roma for rotation purposes. Neville's next signing was 31 year old Central Defender Andrea Lisuzzo from Novara for 1.6m to cover for Dejan Lovren. Neville then strengthened Southampton by purchasing two talents from North London, goalkeeper Brad Friedel for 190k and striker Maroune Chamakh for 4m. Finally Neville completed the signings of Jefferson Montero for 1.3m, Hernan Perez for 6.5m and finally Carnel Meriem on a free transfer

Neville has also got rid of players who he claimed "would not fit into the club's plans" with announcing the departures of Rickie Lambert to Arsenal for 6.5m and Aaron Martin to Leicester for 200k also loan deals for Lloyd Isgrove, Paulo Gazzaniga and Andy Robinson to Doncaster Rovers, Velez Sarsfield and Luton Town respectively.
