Mauro Pochettino has declared that he can do all he can with Southampton after fan protests hit the streets in the last week after he was seen talking to the Bayern Munich manager Josep Guardiola about being a coach after a pre season friendly.

There has been a lot of speculation about who will take over with 5-4 odds on Roberto Di Matteo to follow in Pochettino's footsteps whilst England coach Gary Neville is at 10-1 odds. Stay with Sky Sports News for the latest on this story..........
Good start and good luck :)

Oooh, Neville. Interesting. Shouldn't that be "Mauro Pochettino's translator"? ;)

Neville Gets the Job!

http://worldsoccertalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/gary-neville-sky.jpg

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has decided to take a break from football analysis and coaching to take up his chance at managing Southampton. This announcement has put an end to days of speculation about who would fill the role Mauro Pochettino has left behind. Gary had a few words to say to his former Sky Sports colleague Chris Kamara about his new role,
"I know it's a big step up but i've had to surpass many stepping stones in my career and this is just one of them"

Neville looked eager to progress onwards and upwards during the course of the interview and when asked about his squad he replied with a simple statement,

"I believe the squad has a mass of quality and potential and cannot wait to introduce myself to the players" expect more updates soon about how Neville is settling into his new role
Good luck with Southampton and welcome to FM Scout :D

Neville's Italian Influx

Today on Sky Sports News we look at a newly rejuvenated Southampton squad and it's transfers in the run up to the kick-off of the Barclays Premier League.
Neville hasn't took long to start to spend the incredible 30m budget set by chairman Nicola Cortese and firstly brung in winger Rodrigo Taddei and young striker Gianluca Caprari for a combined fee of 5.6m from Roma for rotation purposes. Neville's next signing was 31 year old Central Defender Andrea Lisuzzo from Novara for 1.6m to cover for Dejan Lovren. Neville then strengthened Southampton by purchasing two talents from North London, goalkeeper Brad Friedel for 190k and striker Maroune Chamakh for 4m. Finally Neville completed the signings of Jefferson Montero for 1.3m, Hernan Perez for 6.5m and finally Carnel Meriem on a free transfer

Total Spent: 19m

Neville has also got rid of players who he claimed "would not fit into the club's plans" with announcing the departures of Rickie Lambert to Arsenal for 6.5m and Aaron Martin to Leicester for 200k also loan deals for Lloyd Isgrove, Paulo Gazzaniga and Andy Robinson to Doncaster Rovers, Velez Sarsfield and Luton Town respectively.

Total Sales: 6.7m

Preseason Results

Player of Pre-season:

Jay Rodriguez 4 Games 4 Goals

Due to pre-season results I have decided to improve the squad with the signing of Will Hughes

I believe his abilities can improve the squad and i cannot wait to see the impact he can make at the club...
I remember how rubbish Will Hughes was on FM12...

Some great signings you have there, and good start for your first story! Good luck!
Wow! Rickie Lambert to Arsenal and Chamakh the other way! Very Unorthodox. Will Hughes is a fantastic signing :)
this series will be discontinued due to a corrupt save
