Sol Campbell returns to Portsmouth

In a shock move by Portsmouth directors Sol Campbell has been hired to take over the vacant managerial post at the Sky Bet League 2 side and is looking to get back to back promotion with the club he captained for 95 games including the FA Cup final which he won.

"I was originally offered a player/manager role but I told the board that I would rather focus on managing the club to victory than take part in a season where my team and tactics would not pay off"

Portsmouth fans are extremely excited by the prospect of Sol and the impact he can make to the dying club...

Consortium plan Pompey takeover

5 Days after the shock appointment of Sol Campbell it is reported that a local consortium are planning to place a bid to buy out the leading share in the dying club.

It is not known if the consortium plan to keep Sol Campbell in his role as manager or have decided to appoint different personnel. All will be revealed in the coming days and weeks on Sky Sports News...
