Yeah! We will see who is the King of Eastern Europe :P

Ukrainian club FC Dnipro earlier today announced that they have reached an agreement with Belarusian club BATE Borisov and their manager Viktor Goncharenko. The 35 year old has been with the Belarusian giants since 2008 and has guided them to 5 back-to-back championships as well as winning their Super Cup twice and the national domestic cup once.

Goncharenko is expected to take over the handling of FC Dnipro within the week and has already outlined some of his plans to the media. With the goalkeeping spot at the club seemingly the weakest point of the squad, despite having Czech Republic international Jan Lašt?vka.

The new manager is famous for his sides playing with a strong, powerful defence and transitioning quickly through the midfield. With the powerful defenders and talented midfield that FC Dnipro have it should be no issue for them to adapt. His BATE side were known for their ability to retain possession against the lower opponents but be strong in the counter against bigger opponents which in the last year have been used it great affect against some of Europe's elite in the Champions League.
Great start Gashead, still remember your Stoke story so I know that this will be good as well! Keep it up mate.

Thanks! I hope it will be better. This time round I am going to try and make it more interesting when I'm not in the transfer window. My Stoke one just had monthly updates without much else.

Two depart as Goncharenko begins reign

New FC Dnipro manager Viktor Goncharenko has began his tenure at the club by selling two players. Goalkeeper Jan Laštůvka spoke out about the criticism he received. The Czech Republic international felt that Goncharenko unjustly singled him out as a weak point in the team. Laštůvka handed in a transfer request and was quickly shipped out to Russian side FC Krasnodar for a fee of £2m.

Next to leave the club was Denys Oliynyk. The Ukrainian international had only been with the club for a single season after arriving from Metalist Kharkiv. He's a player who was unhappy with the dismissal of Juande Ramos and voiced his opinion in the media. After crunch talks with FC Dnipro officials and manager Goncharenko he was placed on the transfer list. Newly promoted Southampton were quickest to Oliynyk's signature agreeing a fee of £4.1m upfront with another £2.4m spread over 2 years.
