It was announced this morning that the globally known Andriy Shevchenko will be taking over the post of Dinamo-2 Kyiv for this season and possibly beyond. Shevchenko once played for the very team he is now managing, a start considered as perfect by many managers in his position.

"I have actually tried to sign him for Dinamo-2 before, In the past he wasn't ready- or so he said. It seems like now is the right time for him." club Chairman, Hryhoriy Surkis, told public at Shevchenko's unveiling. "In all honesty, I did consider him for the first team, but I decided on Oleh Bolkhin instead, as he has more experience."

Ex-Soviet Union international, Oleh Bolkhin, was appointed as manager of the first team only days ago, and it seems he has had no say in Shevchenko's appointment, as when asked about the signing of Shevchenko, he replied with- "No comment."

"This is a very good day for me, and I won't forget it," Shevchenko admitted in his first press conference. "I really can't wait until I get in to the season. This is the club I want to be at right now. I have had offers from bigger clubs in Ukraine, but, here is where my journey should start."

Shevchenko has admitted in the past, before he joined Dinamo-2, that he would most likely not go in to management, unless he got an offer from the right club. This morning he went on to say- "I love this club, but, honestly, Dinamo-2 is not the same as Dinamo-1. I want to be there soon, or, another club I love, like Milan."

One spectacular run of events has left Dinamo-2 Kyiv without a manager only three days after legendary Andriy Shevchenko was made manager of the team. The problems began in Shevchenko's first press conference which caused first team manager, Oleh Blokhin, to lash out at the ex-Ukraine international.

"I love this club, but, honestly, Dinamo-2 is not the same as Dinamo-1," Shevchenko said three days ago when his move to Dinamo-2 became public. "I want to be there soon, or, another club I love, like Milan."

"It's disgraceful that a big club like this gives a totally unproven coach like Shevchenko a job and it goes by totally disregarded," Blokhin ranted to journalists, only hours after Shevchenko's press conference came to an end. "Shevchenko obviously doesn't care how Dinamo-2 do, he's just out for my job. He's using it as a stepping stone."

The days following Blokhin's verbal attack were chillingly silent, and there was no new news on the subject. It was not until today that Shevchenko replied to the comments. "I can see that things won't work out with me in the format, so I'm going to move on," Shevchenko told press after his resignation was made public. "But now that I have my coaching badges, I am going to continue working as a coach. I have nothing against Blokhin."
