Which club to manage in Football Manager 2014?

I keep getting this question all the time on social media, live chat and private messages. And even though this really comes down to personal preference, people still seek for advice about what team to be in-game. Hopefully this topic will give them ideas and help them make their decision easier.

So, what I want you to do is think of up to 3 clubs that would be exciting to manage in Football Manager 2014, and list some details for each of them. The details I'm looking for are the following:

• 2012/13 league finish
• Star players
• Significant new signings
• Difficulty (Newbies, Experienced, Veteran)

Chelsea
* Finished 3rd in the BPL.
* Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, Lampard and Oscar.
* Andre Schurrle and Marco Van Ginkel
* Rich
* Medium, I would say. It's medium only because the amount of competition there is for 1st place.

Manchester City
* Finished 2nd in the BPL.
* Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure, David Silva and Vincent Kompany.
* Stevan Jovetic, Fernandinho, Negredo and Jesus Navas.
* Arabian money...aka rich.
* Easier than Chelsea due to the owner constantly pumping money into the club, if you spend the money wisely you can dominate Europe.

FC Barcelona
* Won the BBVA.
* Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and Neymar
* Neymar
* Rich
* Easiest of all. Barcelona already have a great squad to use and isn't really a challenge.

Tottenham Hotspur

- 5th in the EPL
- Kaboul, Lloris, Sigurdsson
- Paulinho, Soldado
- Rich and yet to hit the big time
- Easy, great squad for you to manage. Sigurdsson is a set piece god. Once you get into the Champions League it gets better from there

Well I have so many ideas of who to manage. I'll just name a few here

Brighton & Hove Albion:
Last Season: 4th (Championship)
Star Players: Craig Mackail-Smith, Liam Bridcutt, Gordon Greer, Tomasz Kuszczak.
New Signings: Keith Andrews (loan) Stephen Ward (loan)
Difficulty: As one of the better sides of the Championship, it shouldn't be too hard to get them up but to stay there is the bigger challenge, as they have a number of fairly old players.

Eintracht Braunschweig:
Last Season: 2nd (Bundesliga 2, promoted to Bundesliga)
Star Players: Simeon Jackson, Dennis Kruppke, Deniz Doğan.
New Signings: Simeon Jackson, Karim Bellarabi, Marco Caligiuri, Omar Elabdellaoui.
Difficulty: Having just been promoted, after being in the Regionalliga as recently as 2008, so the squad is unproven, yet they have made some strong signings like Jackson and Caligiuri.

Aston Villa:
Last Season: 15th (Premier League)
Star Players: Christian Benteke, Brad Guzan, Gabriel Agbonlahaha
New Signigns: Antonio Luna, Jores Okore, Nicklas Hellenius.
Difficulty: Had a poor season last year, but after some good signings they look to be a lot better this year.

Swansea City

-9th in Premier League
-Bony,Michu,A.Williams
-Bony,J.Amat,J.Shelvey,
-Secure with a respectable budget
-Medium,you have a great squad to manage and with one-two signings you can qualify for European competitions

Cardiff City

-1st in Championship
-A.Cornelius,S.Caulker,G.Medel
-A.Cornelius,S.Caulker,G.Medel
-Secure with a good budget
-Medium,you have a fabulous squad to work with and in one-two years with good job you can challenge for a position for Europe

Napoli

-2nd in Serie A
-G.Higuain,M.Hamsik,P.Reina
-G.Higuain,R.Albiol,J.Callejon
-Rich from Cavani's sell
-Easy,you have a strong squad to work with and a good chance to challenge Juventus for title

Athletico Madrid
>Finished 3rd in liga BBVA
>Courtois(loan)-Diego Costa-Godin-Villa
>Villa
>Rich (but not super man city rich)
>Hard, you will need to knock real madrid and barcelona off their perch before you can experience any form of success

Sevilla
>Finished 9th in liga BBVA
>Diego Reyes-Perotti-cicinho
>Marko Marin(loan)
>Rich but tight (doesnt give out much money first season)
>Very hard! you need to develope youth into something special before even trying to win the title! forget about knocking barca and madrid off their perch first you must think about atletico madrid,bilbao,valencia etc..

Roma
>Finished 6th in Serie A
>Lamela-toti-Burdisso-florenzi-de rossi
>Gervinho and none others that i can think of
>Rich (you start off with a fair amount)
>Mediocre! all the italian teams are on the same level really except for juventus who arent much better than Roma/Milan/inter by any stretch of the imagination imo

Arsenal

2012/13 league finish: 4th (Barclays Premier League)

Star players: Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, Theo Walcott

Significant new signings: Yaya Sanogo

Difficulty: Hard: With Arsenal having failed to bring in top players so far this transfer window, the likes of Tottenham Hotspurs and Liverpool look more likely to finish above Arsenal in the league. The real challenge would be to get rid of the remaining dead weight at Arsenal and bring in the needed players to help match Arsenal's expectations. The battle for Champions League spots could become quite intense!

Atletico Madrid

2012/13 league finish: 3rd (Liga BBVA)

Star players: Diego Godín, Koke, Arda Turan, Gabi

Significant new signings: David Villa, Léo Baptistão, Martín Demichelis, Thibaut Courtois (Loan)

Difficulty: Medium: After a stunning last season where Atletico finished 3rd in Liga BBVA, won the Copa Del Ray and the UEFA Super Cup, Atletico look like hot favourites to finish 3rd again, behind Spanish and global giants Real Madrid and Barcelona. With a strong squad coming together, only a few signings are needed to make the top side in to genuine title contenders. If Atletico can strengthen their defence to match the ability of their midfield and attack, there is absolutely no reason why Atletico can't challenge the best teams in the world for honours on any front, domestic or continental. One thing for certain is that Atletico will be an exciting team to play with!

Schalke

2012/13 league finish: 4th (Bundesliga)

Star players: Benedikt Höwedes, Julian Draxler, Jefferson Farfán

Significant new signings: Felipe Santana, Leon Goretzka, Christian Clemens, Ádám Szalai

Difficulty: Medium-Hard: After finishing fourth and someway off the top three in the Bundesliga last season, Schalke made sure to bring in some very talented players to help them break in to the elite group of German teams. Despite having an extremely strong defence and a very creative midfield, their season may come down to an injury-prone Huntelaar and an inexperienced Pukki to deliver the goods up front. Schalke have a very talented side and with one or two intelligent signings, they could challenge for honours and have a very exciting season!

Dinamo Bucharest
2012/13 league finish: 6th (Liga I - Romania)
Star players: Srdjan Luchin, Cosmin Matei, Alexandru Curtean,
Significant new signings: Collins Fai,Jovan Kostovski
Difficulty: Hard: After finishing on the 6th place from 18 teams the club finds himself in very big problems because there've been released at least 15 players from the team and brought like 20 players and also the owners of the club have been changed. The club policy is to build a strong squad based on young players like Dorin Rotariu, Cosmin Matei, Valentin Balint on low sallaries. The club goal for first season is to finish between 1-4 places for a qualification in Europa League.

Southampton FC

• Finished 14th in the Premier League
• Boruc - Shaw - Schniederlin - Lambert
• Lovren - Wanyama - Osvaldo
• I would imagine it would be a medium difficulty.. Young players with plenty of potential and with the fact Southampton are quite rich but lack reputation Be harder attracting more keyer signings

Liverpool

- 2012/13 league finish: 7th
- Star players: Luis Suaréz, Steven Gerrard, Coutinho, Daniel Agger and Daniel Sturridge
- Significant new signings: Simon Mignolet, Luiz Alberto, Iago Aspas, Kolo Touré
- Difficulty: Experienced. It's a very hard league to perform in but they have good players and I have played it for a many years.

Central coast mariners
Last season position: Champions of A league (2nd regular season)
Star players: Michael mcglinchey, josh rose, Mitch duke, Trent sainsbury
Recent signings: Liam Reddy, Matthew Simon
Difficulty: novice to medium, have just sold ahead of players, and do have financial difficulties so could be a challenge.

Manchester United

2012/2013 league finish: 1st

Star players: Van Persie, Kagawa, De Gea, Rafael, Carrick, Vidic, Rooney (as for now)

Significant new signings: Zaha (January signing), young but has talent and could be a key player on the wings

Difficulty:Easy-medium. On the paper, City and maybe Chelsea have a better squad and without a new midfielder, winning the league for the 21st time could be harder than ever, but this is a strong team who doesn't need to buy stars each season to succeed.

Borussia Dortmund

2012/2013 league finish: 2nd

Star players: Lewandowski, Reus, Blaszczykowski, Gundogan, Hummels

Significant new signings: Aubameyang; Dat pace! (He will for sure be an addition to the national Bundesliga sweat-team on FUT14)

Difficulty: Medium. Last year they showed us what they are capable of. But Bayern seems to be favorites of winning the league. In total they have a strong team, but being a team that's gonna fight in the CL will be in danger if they get injuries on 2-3 of their players.

Olympiacos and qpr

Any suggestions on a League One or Two team you'd think would be fun? I'd love to hear why using the criteria Stam mentioned.

I'm headed to London for three weeks in late Mar/early April so if one happens to be in the London area so I can see them play live, all the better!

I know it's not the right place to ask this, but I couldn't think of anywhere else. Is there a Windows 8 tablet which can run the full version Of FM? If yes, them which? And will th 3d match engine work?

Again sorry for asking this here, but I couldn't find a satisfactory answer anywhere near.
