Walter:I don't think even if I do well that I will want to return to HSV. I don't think I would be too bothered about managing them.

Im already back to the job hunting and got news on it very soon.
I like the idea you've got for the story. I look forward to seeing where this takes you. Hopefully your next job works out better than HSV.

Thank you. I hope it does too as I do want this story to go on for a long time and I don't want to have to get use to this sacking nonsense. It is the first time I have ever been sacked on a football manager game and it is a feeling I don't like.

Job Hunting

I have to admit that I was quite disappointed with how my time with HSV went as I thought I could have done quite well with them. Unfortunately the expectations were too high and the players just did not seem to want to play for me...why on earth not? This has meant I have had to get back on the unemployment band wagon again and start job hunting again.

I decided to set my holiday settings as I did previous and wait for the offers to come rolling in...it took until October for the first couple of offers to come in. The first one came from Barnet who had decided that footballing legend Edgar Davids was not the man to take their club forward. Davids had guided Barnet to relegation to the Blue Square Premier which I felt was a big drop down from my days at HSV. The offer was rejected as was the one from Accrington Stanley (who are they?) who too were relegated the previous season to the same division. I do think that I was being over ambitious in waiting for bigger clubs to come in for me and this was evident by the next two offers that came in from Redditch and Southport who were playing their games in the Blue Square North and Premier respectively.

Things were not looking up and I had to reduce by high ambitions and start to be more realistic. This meant that whatever club came in for me next, no matter the division they were playing in, I would be taking them up on their offer and really put my all into it. The next offer didn’t take too long and I am now the manger of:

Ah nice. Interesting club, hopefully you can have some more success with Rotheram than HSV :)
Still a major drop down, of course it's not as major as the other teams that offered. Should be interesting though.
Wow! So unfortunate there but, I think the club you took on was slightly to big as you said! Nevertheless, Rotherham will be a good challenge for you and I think there you might be more respected! I'm also gutted because I made some hamburger kits for you! Good luck:P
Walter:I am actually looking forward to being in control of Rotherham as I know nothing about them. I hope I do better than I did with HSV.

Jozef:It is a big step down compared to HSV but I have a feeling it might be a necessary one in order to improve my reputation so the bigger players actually listen to me.

AaronHjft96:The club was definitely too big so maybe Rotherham is a better place to start all over again. I know nothing about them so it is going to take a bit of time to figure out best formation etc.

I think sometimes taking control of a team you know nothing about can help because you build a connection with the club. Like in mine, I am managing fourth division German side Lubeck - who I don't think anyone knows about :P

First Impressions

I intend on really going for it with this new team; I have to admit that I started to lose the desire to help HSV as things just got worse and worse. I am sat here writing this update two days after taking the job still taking the time and care to study the team. I decided that the best place to start was to look at what backroom staff would be supporting me on the second chapter of my journey. You can imagine my dismay when I found that the board of directors had decided to let the assistant manager go with the previous manager. This meant my first task would be to employ an assistant manager who had reasonably ok attributes. This task was made quite difficult as I didn’t have an assistant manager to remove the unrealistic targets for the post; not the best of starts. I did however eventually find Paul Driver (I hadn’t heard of him either) to take up the position. He became the only addition to the rather poor rated backroom staff.

Next was the task to study the first team and it was a lot more reassuring than last time out with HSV to notice more of the players names. The team are not blessed with high quality players but they do have a lot of experience in the ranks.

In goal we have Nicky Weaver who has jumped from club to club since his days at Manchester City. I don’t think he will get ahead of Adam Collin who appears to have better ability ratings. In front of the goalkeepers I did not recognise a single one of the defenders so it will take me a little while to establish who will be the best back four we have available. It is not like I will be able to rely on my backroom staff for any sound advice.

When it came to looking at the midfielders a few more names popped up than I thought. Michael Tonge, formerly of Sheffield United, had been signed on loan from Leeds United at the beginning of the season. He will bring a lot of experience to the club and I will be looking for him to be the main creative spark in the midfield and to dictate the play. Two former Huddersfield Town players contribute to the midfield in the form of Danny Scholfield and Lionel Ainsworth. Both players are getting to the latter stages of their careers but I am sure they can still bring a lot to the team.

Up front we are lucky to have former Manchester United striker Daniel Nardiello leading the line and I am sure he will be fill the poacher position. Alex Revell will line up alongside him in the target man position but not with the option being used in the team instructions. Overall things could have been a lot worse and I am looking forward to the challenge with the team currently sat in 13th position and only three points away from the play-off positions.
Nice update. Nice league position there for Rotheram and with the right approach I am sure you can crack those playoff places :)

Also, did the manager get sacked, or leave for another club?
Good luck with Rotherham, I'm certain you'll do better this time around :D
Following along similar lines to Walter's question, what is/are the board's objectives for you? Or more importantly, what do you expect to accomplish with this group?

Can't wait for the next update and best of luck!
You can make the play-off any day. Keep it up :D
Good luck with Rotherham :)
