August Story of the Month

So, another month of reading and posting of stories has passed, and the judges have made their decisions in yet another difficult month to decide their nominations. Competition for a coveted nomination seems to be heating up more and more each month with the constant arrival of talented writers, and the seasoned writers always improving their skills.

As time goes on, more competition for SotM nominations naturally arrive. It can be difficult to pick the most deserved nominees out of the vast amount of talented writers. For this reason, I would like to mention some of the stories which didn't get a nomination this month, despite having been very, very good stories.

I'd mostly like to thank my readers for the second straight nomination. I remember, not too long ago, that I was writing the original Adriatic Adventure and no one was reading or commenting. Now, it's been nominated twice for the Story of the Month.

So, thank you all so much for the encouragement, and now that we've passed the "group stage", in true Hajduk fashion, we will be completely dismantled in the finals

I have to say my vote has gone to Wellsy. Despite the other stories being very good and worthy of their nomination but I think Wellsy's is one of the best ones since ones from Dabool and FMRookie. Good luck to everyone who has been nominated.

I am absolutely amazed by this! Thank you very much guys on my first ever SOTM nomination! It is very much appreciated! I hope to continue my Roma story for a while to come as I feel it has been going great and I love writing about it! Once again thanks so much to all who nominated me!

WOW guys just wow. When I started writing I was rubbish. I then started Eastleigh and got a lot better. I stopped that and manage to start around 13 more stories until I found this one, Pep Talks. I got a lot of grief off many members and it was upsetting but I continued to write and now look I am here a SOTM contender.

I want to thank these many people but the list is endless.

I hope that I can become an inspiration to writers like me who got Greig of others for either not sticking to stories or either their writing being not as good as others.

James237: I am very touched by that. It means a lot that you feel my story is a s good as some legendary ones. I feel I have a way to go before it is as good as theirs but I will continue with this for a very long time I promise you.

I can't quite believe it This is my first ever SOTM nomination, I'm still kind of stunned. There is so many great stories up here it kind of is an honour to be nominated with them. Even though my Oriental is on a sabbatical I am so glad I was still nominated and maybe you can expect it to come back a bit sooner, I don't know. But once again thanks guys so so much! I actually do not know who to vote for but I think I am leaning towards P-KIDDY's Bilbao story.

My vote's gotta go for tbendis. The Adriatic Adventure is a brilliant story that I eagerly check for updates every time I log on Maybe Hadjuk can win this final Timmy

Gutted to not be nominated but in a way this motivates me to want to do even better on my story. My vote has to go to wellsy because he has come so far and he has improved so much as a writer. Good luck buddy!

I would like to express my congratulations to those of you receiving your first nominations this month, you really do all deserve it for the massive amount of effort and dedication that you put into your stories. In some ways, though losing the excellent stories of k1rups and Justice is sad, it has also allowed for the less well known writers on this site to really step up and become the best at what they do, having previously been very much in the shadow of the coveted Vauxhall and Lyon stories.

It's also great to know that some of the panel were enjoying my Oviedo story enough to give it some of their votes, thanks so much for that guys, even if I didn't get nominated, it makes me really happy.

Once again, well done to all the nominees, new and old, and unlucky to all those who narrowly missed out, it was so hard to choose the final five. I'll buy you all a virtual beer
