Lets just start off I personally don't think a team needs four defenders (2 CB + L & R back) as long as your 2 cb's are set to defend you should be able to just have.those two in the middle and have wingbacks pushed further up the pitch in line with the defensive midfielder on the formation screen.
Having wingbacks pushed so high up the pitch keeps the opposition outside backs pegged back into there own half. I Caltrain currently put an image up but I play an control type 2-3-2-2-1. If u wanna know more just message me and ill see what I can do
