October 2012

Serie C Cup First Round
Chieti 1 - 2 Catanzaro
So close! After going down 2-0, we finally got some great passing to set up goals, unfortunately the would-be tying goal was disallowed for offside.
Player of the Match: Alberto Quadri (Catanzaro)

- Alessandro Rossi suffered a torn hamstring during a U20s match and will miss 2-3 months, another blow.

Chieti 2 - 2 L'Aquila
We should've gotten the victory, but we let L'Aquila get a counterattack and a equalizer to steal a draw. When a guy goes streaking down the sideline, we can't let him get to the touchline and pass!
Player of the Match: Michael Cardinali (Chieti)

Foligno 0 - 0 Chieti
We were lucky to draw here, as despite Chieti having more of the ball, Foligno had better chances, our goalkeeper made plenty of nice saves though.
Player of the Match: Saverio Cutrupi (Chieti)

- The first head has been chopped in Serie C2/B as Poggibonsi has sacked Stefano Polidori. Francesco Ilari is the main figure linked to the job, but there are a few other candidates too, and indeed, Ilari has taken the job.

- Salernitana has sacked Carlo Perrone, with Stefano Baldoni being the favorite to take over the job.

- There's swirling rumors that my own head will roll if Chieti doesn't win against Vigor Lamenzia.

Chieti 2 - 0 Vigor Lamenzia
We were great, getting the ball in point blank range of the goal, then shooting. Evola took advantage of a wide gap in between backs, in particular and had a great go himself. We cut out the opportunities for our opponents, too!
Player of the Match: Salvatore Accursi (Chieti)

Aversa Normanna 2 - 3 Chieti
Wow, we almost blew it! The game was a tale of two halves, in the first half, Jonathan Alessandro was on fire, threatening Aversa Normanna with his off the ball skills and finishing, picking up two goals and an assist. In the second half, things changed though. A goal was disallowed for offside, but Aversa Normanna scored two allowed goals, and threatened to undo the work we did. Thankfully, we held on, but I had some words for the team afterwards.
Player of the Match: Francesco Evola (Chieti)
Injury Update: In what is a cruel blow to their center midfield unit, Lorenzo Del Pinto twisted his ankle and will miss 5-6 weeks.

- Salernitana have hired Stefano Baldoni as their new manager.

- Backup goalkeeper Gianluca D'Amico suffered a lower back stress fracture in training and will miss 2-3 months. As much as having anyone injured sucks, at least it was only one of the backup goalkeepers.

Serie C2/B Table

After a poor start, we're turning it around and are at midtable after 9 games, not too far out of the promotion places, either. We only need to finish in the top 6 to get a chance at promotion, although of course we want to finish top two so we can get the automatic promotion.

November 2012

Chieti 1 - 2 Gavorrano
A very unlucky loss, we did way more and played better, but we blew our early lead.
Player of the Match: Jonathan Alessandro (Chieti)

- Foligno have sacked manager Francesco Monaco.

Martina Franca 1 - 1 Chieti
We got away with a draw here, when we kept breaking through the line we kept getting caught out of position, and our only goal came from a headed in free kick.
Player of the Match: Samuele Buda (Martina Franca)

Chieti 1 - 2 Campobosso
Another game where we score first but concede enough to lose later on.
Player of the Match: Mario Tacchinardi (Campobosso)

Aprilia 1 - 3 Chieti
A very assertive road win over the third placed team in the league. We fell behind early but we picked ourselves up and created wonderful chances.
Player of the Match: Jonathan Alessandro (Chieti)

Serie C2/B Table

We didn't do too hot, losing games that we should have won, but we've only dropped a place, and we're still very much in the thick of things. Del Pinto is about to return from his injury and he will be a big boost.
Bad luck this month, I'm sure you will improve :)

One question, do you have Creative Freedom on 'More Expressive' or 'More Disciplined'?
If it is on 'More Expressive', I'd recommend changing it, because most players have poor decision making skills in that league.

But I could be wrong, so just keep going and I am sure the wins will come :)
More Expressive, I'll try changing it
