Transfers

I have been wondering for a long time now if other players have the same "problem" as me with transfers.

One of the best parts of FM for me is buying/selling players, especially if I'm playing with a "small" team and need money. But for the last couple of FM editions the AI clubs seem to never buy players. I have played with Benfica for 10 seasons, Besiktas for 3, Osijek 10 (and had great success which means players prices went up)... and have received maybe 5 offers from other clubs for my players that were good enough for me to sell my players (meaning 1,5-3* the value of the player), and have never received and offer over 20 mill Euros. Also I have never seen a transfer over 40 mill Euros. THe most funny thing is that big clubs such as Chelsea, REal, Barca, Man U, BAyern..., the big spenders, almost never buy players.

My question is why this happens? Is there a "button" to turn on transfers or what?

This is rather strange because I have witnessed a lot of expensive transfers in my saves made by AI clubs. Just this season (in game) I sold one player for £20M, and another for £25M.

Have you tried offering your players out to clubs? Despite your success you may still need to promote your team in order to gain the attention needed for a bid... however it does seem strange that big transfers are generally not happening...

Maybe there is a world wide recession

I have, sometimes it helps, but I don't get a very high price like that either. Right now I'm playing with besiktas, I'm trying to sell a 25 y old FC/OM that has scored 20g/20matches for me, in league, CL and Cup games, with around 10 asists. He has a value of 6mill E, and I can't sell him for 4!

Also I don't like offering players around too much because then my team morale drops a lot and players start complaining.
