Espanyol Sack Aguirre

La Liga side Espanyol have today sacked their manager Javier Aguirre for inappropriate behaviour. Well Aguirre, who was hired to replace former manager Mauricio Pochettino, after he was privately photographed and recorded insulting the memory of the clubs former captain Daniel Jarque, who passed away in 2009 following a heart attack. Espanyol chairman Joan Collet also released a statement on the clubs website following the sacking. "We had high hopes for Javier when we hired him as the replacement for Mauricio Pochettino, but after he was caught mocking the memory of one the clubs most celebrated player in recent years, we knew we had to act fast. His actions were really unacceptable, and the club cannot tolerate this sort of behaviour, and we now wish Javier the best of luck in the future and hope that we can hire a suitable replacement to take this club forward."

There have been no names mentioned round Spain as of yet to who could replace Aguirre, but it should be an interesting choice.

Solano has reportedly been handed a 1 year deal worth around £13,250 per week in Spain, and has been tipped by critics and football experts around the world to settle in fast in Spain and help Espanyol climb the La Liga table. In a recent interview with Spanish newspaper MARCA, Solano was quoted saying this. "Its fantastic to be a part of the project at Espanyol, as they are a club who are in the shadow of Barcelona. My aim is to be able to win a new contract at the club beyond this season, and then hopefully take the club into European contention. I am grateful to the club for giving me this opportunity, and vow not to let the fans down.

Solano began his career in 1993 at Sporting Cristal making 11 appearances scoring once, before moving onto Deportivo Municipal making 27 appearances scoring 7 times. Solano then returned to Cristal in 1994, staying until 1997 scoring 31 goals in 97 games. Solano then had a 1 year spell at West Ham made 23 appearances scoring 4 goals and then moving to Greece with Larissa, scoring twice in 17 games. A spell in homeland Peru in 2009 scoring 10 times in 32 appearances with Universitario de Deportes then gave him a re-ignitance in his career, as he then spent the 2nd half of the 09-10 season with Leicester making 13 appearances. In the 10-11 season, Solano followed Nigel Pearson to Hull, making 11 appearances, before moving to Hartlepool scoring twice in 14 games. Solano also made 95 appearances for Peru, scoring 20 goals.
