Gianfranco Zola insists Watford will bounce back stronger after Crystal Palace play-off defeat

Gianfranco Zola says his squad will be more competitive next season

Zola was magnanimous in defeat, conceding Palace were the better side on the day and insisting his side will respond next term. He said:

"This game doesn't take anything away from our season. It's been a very good season. It's a very unfortunate thing we didn't play our best game. They played better and they deserved to win the game."

"We're going to be stronger next year. This is not the end of the road for us, this is just the beginning, I enjoy what I'm doing here and I'm going to make sure even my contribution is going to be better next year."

The Story

As you can tell from the introduction and title, i will be taking over as manager of Watford after their play off final defeat, i will be trying to gain automatic promotion in the first season whilst trying to build a good strong team without spending alot of money. I will also be using Gianfranco Zolas name for my manager.
Good luck :)

Mark, I swear to God, if you steal the SotM from me, I will be very upset. Although, having another one of your stories on the site might offset it a little bit.

Glad to have you writing again :)

Watford Finalise Two Signings

Watford have today confirmed the signings of Yaya Sanogo on loan from Arsenal and Matthues signed from Flamengo on a 5 year contract for £925,000.

Sanogo who has only recently joined Arsenal on a free contract from Auxerre, will be joining the club on a season long loan as he looks to get himself regular first team football. The Frenchman will be hoping that whilst playing in the Championship with Watford he can score goals and keep himself in Wengers thoughts for the future. Watford will be paying Arsenal a monthly fee of £35,000 and will pay 100% of his wages throughout his stay.

Recently turned 18 year old Matthues has agreed a 5 year contract with Watford, and will stay with the club until 2017. Having spent his so far short career with Flamengo, starting in the youth academy he was promoted to the first team in 2012. A fee of £925,000 was built into his contract as a minimum release clause and was activated by Watford after his agent offered out his services. He will be paid £6,500 per week.

Nice start Mark :)

Zola All Smiles After Pre-Season

Zola today hailed his team after a great pre-season in which they scored 21 goals and conceded 0. Although the teams Watford played of much lower competition, Zola was upbeat that it was all about getting his team ready and prepared for the season in the right way after the play-off final disappointment.
