What are the options

Thats a difficult one as stories are generally quite personal or something people have a vested interest in.
However, if you want suggestions then here are some:
1. Have a look in the challenges thread and see if there is one of them you'd like to take on for a story.
2. Pick a team from a little used league, or a little used team from a more popular league.

As for teams, how about looking to the eastern european sides:
Legia Warsaw - A 'Polish'ed Result
Dinamo Kiev - Insane in the Ukraine
Fenerbache/Besiktas - Reclaiming Turkey

Just examples there, hope it helps guide you to a truly original and interesting story

I challenge you to make a story from a team from the 3th division in belgium (you can even choose one yourself. My personal favorites there ar Diegem Sport).
Take them to the top in Belgium and than europe that will be a challenge to keep you busy until the next fm release i think
