Leeds United FC

Brief History

Leeds United Football Club is an English football club based in Beeston, Leeds, West Yorkshire. The club was formed in 1919 following the disbanding of predecessor team Leeds City F.C. by The Football League. Their home is the 39,460-seat Road stadium, where they have played since their establishment after taking over from Leeds City.
Leeds United have won a number trophies in English football, including three First Division league titles, an FA Cup and a League Cup. The club have also been successful in Europe, winning two Inter-Cities Fairs Cup (replaced by the UEFA Cup). The club won the majority of their honours under the management of Don Revie during the 1960s and 1970s.

Leeds United's regular kit colours are plain white. The club's badge has been changed several times in attempts to re-brand the club and modernise its image. The current badge, features the White Rose of York and reads "LUFC". The club's most common nicknames are "The Whites", "United" and "The Peacocks", the last stemming from the former name of Elland Road, The Old Peacock Ground. Recent online research indicates that they are in the top ten most supported clubs in England.

Why Leeds

Leeds are a club with great history and they deserve to be at the top. I intend to take the club back up and become a great team again. The club has potential and can be a top team again.

The Manager

It will Simply be me, Matt Wells. I had no clue about being who to be so being me was a good choice. Many of you watch JUB on YouTube and I intend to keep this going for a long time.

Leeds Sack Warnock

Neil Warnock has been sacked as manager of Leeds United after an agreement was made between the club. The new owners announce that Neil had parted company with the club after only 5 months in charge at the club. They announced that they wanted to have a young and fresh manager at the helm of Leeds and it was best for Neil and Leeds to part ways.

“We want to wish Neil the best”, stated new chairman David Haigh. “We feel at GFH that this club needs a new image, a fresh one to be precise. We want to create a dynasty here at Leeds and we feel this club has been rotting away in the Championship for too long now and we want to get the club back into the Premier League. We feel the club has a bad reputation as being old and having a dirty style of play but that was long ago and this is a new start for Leeds United Football Club”.

He also added, “We want to have a young manager take the Job at Leeds as we feel that will be the best for the club in the long run. We promise that we will stick by them whenever they need us and funds will be available for the new gaffer”.

Many pundits have voiced their opinion on who should be the new manager and names like Brian McDermott, Nigel Adkins and Paul Ince have been touted as being favourites for the job but in football anything can happen and we could have a surprise on the cards.

Leeds have announced they will appoint the new manager later today at around 1PM and he will be unveiled to the media later on this evening.
Brilliant start Wells, good luck with the rest of it!
Good luck Wellsy, will be following :)

Starting Off in The Big Wide World

‘Rain Again. It’s another day on Football Manager for me then’, I thought. I had played the game for years and playing it when it is raining is the best feeling ever. I had a quick look at the news and I found out that Leeds had sacked Neil Warnock. I liked him as a person but not as a manager. Earlier that year I had paid for myself to gain my coaching badges so I could find a job in football. It was a dream of mine to manage a top club and be a great manager.

I had played football all of my life and now at 31 I knew a playing career was down the drain. I only ever played for one team, Midway. I played from 7 years old up until I was 28 and I suffered a bad knee injury after a bad tackle. I always wore the #14 shirt in memory of Thierry Henry. I had seen many players and manager come and go but I always stayed loyal and was captin of the team for most of my time at the club. I always wanted to manage that team so I did for 1 season but then the club folded much to my disappointment. After 8 player’s player trophies, 4 managers’ player trophies and many fall outs Midway was no more. My life was gone.

I knew I would have to start from the bottom to become a great and all I could do was apply at hope at this time. I had applied for jobs at Hayes & Yeading, Eastleigh and Burton. I knew I would have no chance on getting the Leeds job but I applied anyway just to brag to my mates.

Dear Leeds United Football Club,
I am writing to apply for the position of manager at Leeds United. I have no reputation in football but all I ask of you is you give me a chance by giving me an interview. I have a revolutionary plan on how a football club should be run and I have talent, I know I do. I can bring success back to Leeds and I know I am the man for the job.

Yours Sincerely,
Matt Wells.
Can you imagine if Leeds gave that idiot a job, his application's crap :P , no seriously nice update and good luck with this mate, nice to see my banner being used :)
