Palace suffer training ground bust-up

http://i44.tinypic.com/2u5z61i.png

Youngster Jon Williams and Kwesi Appiah had to be separated by team-mates after the two were locked in a brawl during training.

Williams, 19, and Appiah, 22, had a heated argument which lead to a punch-up between the players and has left Appiah sporting a rather big shiner. It is believed that Williams was complaining over a dirty lunge. Images show striker Appiah lunging into a tackle, where he seemed to drag his studs down the back of Williams Achilles heel.

The two have since made up, but this is not the first incident to involve Appiah. Earlier this year he was involved in a spat with manager Gus Poyet, causing Gus to dock the striker a week worth of wages, place him on the transfer list and even send the player to train with the reserves for the rest of his time at the club.
This Appiah guy seems quite annoying :))
Appiah is a batty boy! How does he get a black eye from Williams?!
Appiah is gold. :P Great update! KUTGW :)
I think we should settle it with this. David Haye vs Appiah, that sounds like a fair fight.

Jedinak signs a new contract amid rumors of him leaving.

http://i41.tinypic.com/biqh4m.png

Mile Jedinak has quashed reports claiming that the tough-tackling midfielder was ready to jump ship after impressing in his first season with Palace back in the Premier League by signing a new contract.

Jedinaks current contract was due to run out at the end of next season, and with speculation mounting over his future, it is believed that his agent pushed for his player to be given an extension. The Aussie has been a rock in the center of midfield, and has clocked up an impressive 33 displays, scoring two goals and assisting three.

Mile's contract has been extended until 2015 and has also had a substantial pay-rise. It is believed that he is now earning around £19,000 (£2,500,000 per annum) - £3,000 more than anyone currently at the club and triple of what he was previously earning. It is also believed that he has had a clause included in his contract which will see him remain the highest earner at the club until he departs.

Speaking to the clubs official website, Mile's said "It's great. I'm happy to have signed a new contract and hopefully I will retire here. I've loved my time at this club and I will always remember what everyone has done for me when I finally do depart."

Miles arrived at Selhurst park in the 2011/12 season after signing from Genclerbirligi on a free and has so far clocked up over 60 appearances in his two seasons at the club.

Palace secure Premier League Status

http://i41.tinypic.com/333v1nd.png

Crystal Palace have confirmed that they will be battling it out in one of the toughest leagues in the world next year. The eagles have managed to beat the odds and secure another year in the Premier League. Many had written Palace off at the beginning of the new season, especially with new manage Gus Poyet. However, through hard-work, grit and determination, as well as the occasional aggressive team talk, Palace will be playing with the big boys again with 3 games left.

Palace have had a very good season so far, and after the much needed win at Swansea City, there is now no-way they can mathematically get relegated, and in turn, the lowest which the club can finish is a respectable 15th place.

Poyet has praised the lads for their hard work, however he has stated that the job is not yet done. "It is great, knowing that we are secure for another year. But the lads can't think of their holidays just yet. We want to push on and finish as high up the table as possible, giving us even more of an advantage for the new season later this year. We - the team and myself have achieved our objective that Steve set us, and once the season is over, they can go on a very well-deserved holiday."
Superbly done! Hope to see you challenging nearer the top end next season!
Congrats on PL Survival. Immaculate layout as always :)
