Eagles Sign Italian Youngster

http://i44.tinypic.com/2l9mp1x.png

Crystal Palace have announced their what seems to be their final signing of the window. After the departure of back-up Goalkeeper, Lewis Price, it is believed that Gus wanted to bring in someone who could turn into a good prospect for the future.

After scouting Europe, Gus has settled on bringing in 17 year old Goalkeeper Riccardo La Ferrera. The 17 year old came through the youth academy of AC Milan during the 12/13 season. The player, however, did not go on to make any appearances for the club.

Gus is said to be happy with the transfer, and will have to pay a compensation fee of £925k, despite signing the player on a free transfer.

Despite landing in London just two days ago, it is believed that Gus is ready to ship the Goalkeeper out on Loan in order to get valuable game time and help increase his progression as a player.

Still love this story a lot. One of the best on here.

Summer Transfer Window Round-Up

http://i44.tinypic.com/xt3s1.jpg

The summer transfer window has finally come to a close. This year saw many teams strengthen their squads and splash the cash, with Manchester City spending a whopping £106 million. A total of £506 million was spent by all Premier League Clubs.

The biggest spenders of the transfer window also spent the most on a single player. Manchester City have splashed the cash on 26 year old, Chilean and former Juventus defensive midfielder, Arturo Vidal. The player has left Juventus, where he arrived in 2010 for a fee of £10.75 million. The player had spent two great seasons, making a total of 65 appearances. Juventus were playing hardball over the transfer and insisted that City meet the £40 million that they had placed on his head. After tough negotiations, City finally gave in and have paid a staggering £40.5 million for the player. The player has put pen-to-paper on a four year deal, which will see him earn an estimated £145k a week.

Manchester City weren't the only ones splashing the cash. Chelsea also spent big on both Robert Lewandoski from Dortmund, capturing the player for a fee of £36.5 million, as well as spending
£16.25 on Barcelona winger Pedro. Lewandoski will be on a fee reported to be around £155k a week, while former Barcelona winger, Pedro, has signed a 5 year contract on a wage of £105k a week.

Ashley Young swapped Old Trafford for the Emirates in a deal thought to be around £12m. The English winger has never fully hit the heights of what he had produced at Villa Park. It is believed that Ghanaian winger, Adre Ayew will be his replacement, having signed from Marseille after David Moyes activated his release clause.

Crystal Palace have spent a total of £9.5 million during the summer, with Argentinian winger, Allione coming is at the most expensive for a fee of £4.3 million. It is believed that manager Gus Poyet was also close to sealing a deal for Leeds United youngster and fullback, Sam Byram. The fullback was said to be open to a move to Selhurst Park, however the two clubs could not agree upon a fee.

Reports are indicating that Gus will be back in for the player in January having lost faith in full back Joel Ward. Inside sources are claiming that Gus was ready to break the Crystal Palace transfer record, after bidding £7 million for the player.
Damn! A great update and like I have said in numerous times, the graphics are fantastic. Some staggering transfers and I hope that you get Byram!
Fantastic update mate, I wish I had your ability to use gimp.
@Wellsy - Thank you! Means so much that you're enjoying it :D

@Jeremy - Thank you :D. I'm really looking at Sam, he indicated after the window had closed (for the second time) that he would consider moving, so hopefully I can get him!

@TSO - Cheers mate! :)

Gus flies to Uruguay

http://i43.tinypic.com/wjvz4n.png

Crystal Palace have announced that manager Gus Poyet will be on compassionate leave for as long as he needs following the death of his father.

Gus Poyet was seen flying out to Uruguay just a day before Palace were to face Millwall in the Capital One Cup. The manager was pictured with his spouse, Madelon Poyet and his two children, Diego Poyet and Matias Poyet. The manager could be seen clutching his wife's hand, with his head down.

A statement from Palace Chairman Steve Parish read "We are deeply saddened to hear of the tragic circumstances that surround Gus. We realise that this is a difficult time for him and his family and we are sending our prayers and best wishes from everyone at the club his way. The tragic event has hit Gus hard, and as a club, we have decided that it would be best if Gus was able to mourn the loss of his father in private. Because of this decision, Gus will be on compassionate leave for the near future. Newly appointed assistant manager, Christopher Symons will take charge of any games that Gus is unavailable to attend. We thank you for your time."

Gus Poyet, 46, has managed Crystal Palace since July 2012 after taking over from sacked manager Ian Holloway.

His father has been survived by his wife, Maria Poyet, as well as his son and daugther, Gus and Sofía Poyet

Gus back ahead of City clash.

http://i42.tinypic.com/xbwsvn.png

Gus Poyet has been pictured on his own in England at Heathrow airport on Monday - just two days before Palace take on City at Selhurst Park.

Gus attended his fathers funeral the day after flying out, but delayed his return in order to stay and mourn with his family. Just a few days ago, his wife, Madelon Poyet, and his two children, Diego and Matias were seen arriving back in England without Gus.

Many assumed that Gus would be staying out In Uruguay for a week or two more in order to stay with family. A family friend, however, spoke to the BBC, confirming the reason as to why they had flew back without Gus. "Gus wanted to spend some time on his own, as well as with his sister. They share a very close relationship and he also didn't want to upset his kids. His wife [Madelon] was very understanding. She realised that it would be best for him to spend some time on his own. He [Gus' Dad] and Madelon got on well, but their was always a sense that he thought that his son could do better. She felt that it would be best for everyone if they flew out early."

Gus has been on compassionate leave since Tuesday the 17th, a day before Palace were set to face Millwall in the Capital One Cup. Assisstant manager, Kit Symons, took control of the Millwall match match, as well as a match against Sunderland on the 21st.
Did Kit win those games?
