Real Sociedad bought by Qatari billionaire

La Liga side Real Sociedad have been bought by Qatari billionaire Imthi Al Sabin to become the 'new Manchester City'. It is thought that the new chairman will take a lead role in finding the replacement for the recently departed Phillippe Montanier, however, it is unknown who exactly will be in the role.
Ooo, sounds good with all the money, good luck lad

Hello Luis, nice to see you.
Thank you, nice to see you too.
So... what made you choose this club of all others?
I just thought the offer was right and a good challenge to take on.
What do you aim to achieve with Sociedad this season?
My minimum is to reach a Europa League spot, but I'd love to reach the Champions League. I have told the board my expectations and they've given me a large budget to help me achieve this.
What do you aim to achieve with Sociedad in the future?
Overall, I wish to make Real Sociedad a Champions League winner. I know it'll take many, many years, but that is my ambition at for this club.
Are there any players you have your eye on?
There are a few, yes, but I won't say just yet. I prefer to do my work in a more private fashion.
How do you aim to improve this club this season?
I will be hoping to introduce a Sociedad Friendly Cup with 3 other teams, but nothing's official yet. That and some tradition bonding events is all I think is needed this year.
Thank you for your time.
Thank you.
A very good luck to you sir :P

Luis Figo arranges 'Sociedad Cup' for four teams

Luis Figo has arranged a Friendly cup titled the 'Sociedad Cup' to help his club Real Sociedad prepare for the new season.
The Sociedad Cup will include Russian side Anji, Spanish side Gimnastico and Mexican side Tigres.
Good start. I would say it would be nice to see a bit more info on your updates. Regardless, good luck with this. Figo is a great character and Sociedad is a team full of potential. Good Luck :)

Transfers

I have made a few signings over the last 2 months, with hope that they can bring us forward this season. First of all, I looked at the positions that needed strengthening, and then dove in. However, it's not all about bringing in...

Into the Club...

Raul Baena (£7m)
So, I looked at my squad, and immediately decided I needed a new leading central midfielder. I asked my scouts to search for one suitable to our team, and one of the choices was this gem from Espanyol. At first, I made a £5m offer, but after a few negotiations, it rose to £7m. I believe that the 22 year-old's capture is a sign of things to come.

Gokhan Gonul (£7m)
Yet another £7m deal, but Gonul is a player I feel is needed at the club. Another position that needed strengthening was the right back position, and spotting this 2 year-old Turkey star was a strike of luck. Immediately paying £7m, the deal was soon done and this signing is definitely a steal from Fenerbache.

Benoit Tremoulinas (£7.5m)
I felt that we needed a left back, as well as a right back. My poor scouts barely get a break these days. However, they came back with a long list of players, and Tremoulinas, 25, caught my eye. There were a load of negotiations, and I was close to giving up, but we finally reached an agreement of £7.5m with Bordeaux. I'm delighted with this signing as he appears to be extremely optimistic about making his La Liga debut.

Mario Mandzukic (£15m)
Although we have some great strikers, I strongly believed that we needed a star striker to lead us to glory. Enter Mandzukic. Wanting to leave club Wolfsburg, I felt it was the perfect time to swoop in for the 25 year-old. Starting off with a £6m offer, things turned out to be a little more expensive than I'd planned, but I'm happy to have signed this fantastic player.

Out of the club...

Carlos Martinez
There was only room for one Martinez in the squad, and his name is Inigo. I was more than happy to sell the 25 year-old right back to Espanyol, as I felt he was surplus to requirements. We recieved a lowly £1.5m for him, but I didn't care because we have many better players in the team.
Gonul for 7m? What a bargain!

I know, I was amazed at how cheap I got him.
