Arsenal bring in two legends
Arsenal manager, Thierry Henry, has confirmed the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo from Madrid and Andres Iniesta from Barcelona for fees of 22.5 million and 325k. These two signings have shocked the world for two reasons. Firstly, nobody would have expected Arsenal to be able to attract such quality players, even if they're in their thirties. Secondly, nobody thought Barcelona would let Iniesta go for such a cheap price, following his service for many years.
According to sources inside Arsenal, Henry's plan is to bring in experienced players, legends in fact, and hope for them to teach the younger players a few things before retiring and becoming coaches at the club. However, the Cristiano Ronaldo transfer saga has been going on for months and has finally come to an end. The Portuguese legend stated he couldn't turn down The Gunners, despite still being contracted to Madrid, much to the disgust and dismay of some Madrid fans. Many of you will remember, Henry managed Madrid years ago. Ronaldo himself, admitted that Henry was the best coach he had ever played for and he appreciated his hard work on and off the pitch. Ronaldo will join on the 1st of January. Los Blancos will miss there key player greatly.
Iniesta, on the other hand, had been completely isolated by Barcelona manager Spalletti due to him ageing. To many, this makes the Italian look very ignorant due to the quality Andres Iniesta still possess. Barcelona fans are furious at the sale of the Spaniard, as they believe he still had a lot to offer for the club. He too will also join the club on the 1st of January.
Meanwhile, Thierry Henry approached Real Madrid for the availability of Englishman, Jack Wilshere. Unfortunately for Arsenal, Madrid were quick to issue a warning that Wilshere is not for sale. Arsenal reportedly made a 55 million bid to test the Spanish giants resistance, but they proved strong and rejected. Jack Wilshere has now signed a 5 year contract with Madrid and will most likely finish his career at the club.
We can also confirm, Henry contacted Barcelona about Lionel Messi, but of course, Barcelona rubbished all speculation and gave Arsenal a stern warning that he's not for sale and is still under contract with the club. Henry then went ahead with trying to unsettle the Argentine. Leo, replied stating he wants to finish his career at the Catalan giants.
Arsenal being the richest team in the world now, with the club having a value of 1.09 b and Arsene Wenger no longer being their manager, seem to be willing to splash the cash in order to bring in quality. For more information and Arsenal's transfer news, you can get it here, on sky sports news.
