Author's Notes

Hello and welcome to my first ever manager story, The Con Manager.

Inspired by some of the genius stories I’ve read on here using fictional characters to manage their teams I have decided that Mickey Bricks is the man to help me begin my time on this forum. I’m not going to go into too much detail about Mickey as for those of you have watched The Hustle you will already know exactly why he’d make such a good manager and those who don’t will find out a lot about him in my upcoming posts. What I will tell you is he’s a ridiculously intelligent man with the ability to out-wit anyone and everyone, but also a genuine guy with good morals and a hunger for success.

What to expect?

I won’t be writing as ‘me’ at all during this story as I really wanted to create a realistic view of Mickey Bricks’ time as a top flight manager. You can expect news reports, dialogue between Mickey and his players, squad reports from coaches and much more (as and when I think of it!) It’s also worth noting that I won’t ever write in the first person as Mickey. To add to the mystery of his character I thought it will be better to have other people (players/media/other managers) experiencing Mickey’s behaviour.

The goal

My aim is to take QPR to the top flight once again and then cement their place in the Premier League. Not an easy task, but with Mickey’s brains and the Chairman’s financial backing I’m sure I’ll be able to manage it. Obviously the dream is to win the top division in England but for now I’m mainly focused on getting up and staying up.

Updates soon, hope you all enjoy :)
Good luck, will follow :)
Excellent start, will sefinitely follow!
Really nice start mate, keep it up!

Confusion at Loftus Road

Queens Park Rangers fans are in uproar as they wake up to the news that their beloved club has had an unlikely manager switch. Harry Redknapp, who had only been in charge of QPR for 5 months, has been replaced by the unknown manager Mickey Bricks. News spread after a small notice was posted on www.qpr.co.uk‎ saying that Harry had decided to leave the club and that QPR had already found a ‘suitable’ replacement manager, later revealed to be Bricks. The details surrounding Redknapp’s decision to depart the club are unknown as of yet, although many believe he has chosen to pursue a career in football punditry.

Mickey Bricks was revealed as the new QPR manager via the club website last night

Little is known about Mickey Bricks, the newly appointed QPR manager. The 33 year old has never held a position in a football club let alone as a manager and many fans are wondering whether the board have lost their heads. Also, with no press conference announced the Hoops fans may have to wait as long as a month before getting a public appearance from their mystery man, with QPR’s first Championship fixture scheduled for the 18th of August.
Great start! And a fantastic idea! I hope this goes well...also I know you wanted feedback but keep posting as much as you can and trust me the views will keep rushing in

Thank god at least one other person has seen it, would be a bit awkward if I was the only one haha!
