Hi,
I'm jamstoe and I'm going to be doing a story with Everton.
They have quite a good starter squad, with the likes of Cahill, Jelavic, Baines and Howard. Unfortunately we started with £0 Transfer Budget and £17k Wage Budget left.
I am half-way through pre-season but I won't be letting you see any of the results until the start of the season.
I have so far signed David Bentley from Tottenham for £2m and sold Sylvain Distin for £1.2m to Newcastle while letting Victor Anichebe go to Vitesse on loan with them paying us £825k for it.
I will put the pre-season results out just before the first match of the season.
Here are the pre-season results as promised:
Everton Reserves- W 6-0 (Rodwell, Drenthe, Osman (2), Duffy, Hetinga
FC Kobenhavn- D 0-0
Stuttgart- L 4-0
Cliftonville- W 6-1 (Jelavic, Jagielka (2), Rodwell, Hetinga, Osman)
Preston- W 2-0 (Osman, Baxter)
Macclesfield- W 4-0 (Fellaini, Rodwell (2), Own Goal)
Levante- W 1-0 (Rodwell)
The star performers of the pre-season games were a surprise with Leon Osman and Jack Rodwell getting the most man of the match.
I also have signed Darwin Quintero from Santos Laguna for £2.8M as I needed a quality back up striker for Jelavic or could play alongside him if I decide to change my 4-4-1-1 formation.
The first game of the season is against Asotn Villa so I will tell you about how that next time!
Aston Villa 1-1 Everton
We were rubbish but one of our debutants David Bentley socred the opener before Villa were awarded and controversial penalty which was surprisingly slotted away by James Collins. Shay Given was Man of the Match but our best player was David Bentley with an 8.3 rating.
I thought the score was 0-0 lol or was it actually 1-1 cause bentley scored and james collins
Thanks patrick1! I've edited it to the right scoreline now!
Everton 3-1 Brentford
Our next game was in the League Cup against Brentford. I switched most of the team around to give our key players a rest before our big game against Man United 3 days after. It was quite a scary game and at the end of 90 minutes it was 1-1 with Dennis Straquilersi scoring before Brentford got a goal back. We then went into extra-time and Phil Jagielka scored before 97th minute sub Jelavic rounded the win off. The draw for the third round will be made after our game aginst Man United so I will update you then.
Everton 1-1 Manchester United
We played Manchester United at home and had a good defensive display. United had the football most of the match and Darren Fletcher slotted home in the 22nd minute. The Reds dominated the rest of the game until the 71st minute when Chris Smalling was shown a second yellow card. Royston Drenthe then scored a nice goal in the 78th minute but United then got back in their stride and dominated for the rest of the game. We felt that we were lucky to get the result but every point matters at this point in the season.
We also drew Burton Albion away in the 3rd Round of the League Cup- we will feel very embarrassed if we lose that one!
Good result against man united and how's jelavic performing? Any good??
how dare you beat brentford lol
How comes you sold distan? Not a fan? Ive always seen him as one of there best CB's I like Evertons squad but I have to have some money to play with! Good work n keep it up!
Newcastle 2-0 Everton
We were deservedly beaten by Newcastle away today. The deadlock was broken in the 58th minute when Demba Ba slotted home a goal. Ba then scored again in the 86th minute and the score stayed that way to the final whistle. No player played well and Nikola Jelavic played very poorly so he will be replaced by Darwin Quintero upfront for the next game. We are now 19th in the league with 2 points but have a game in hand against all the other teams.

Jelavic is performing awful! Hasn't even come close to scoring a goal! So I'm replacing him upfront by my new signing Quintero in the 1st XI

He din't have good morale and I think Jagielka and Hetinga are good CBs along with a few very promising youngsters.
Bolton 0-2 Everton
We had a midweek game against Bolton that we missed earlier in the season today. Phil Jagielka headed in the first goal in the 35th minute before new signing Darwin Quintero rounded of the win in the 80th minute on his 1st start.
We are now 12th in the league with 5 points.
Everton 3-1 Chelsea
What a result!!! We started the match off as underdogs but we played some great football. Ivanovic scored an own goal in the 14th minute from a Rodwell cross to open the scoring. Then Jagielka slotted home from close range in the 18th minute to make it 2-0 before Darwin Quintero raced past the Chelsea defence and scored our third goal in 7 minutes!!!!! Drogba then got through our usually solid defence to make it 3-1. I then changed to a countering strategy and told my team to keep the ball. And keep the ball they did! With us having 64% of the possession in the end, we hung on for the victory against a Chelsea side who are 19th in the league because their morale is so low. The highest morale anyone had got in their squad was 'POOR'! Phil Jagielka got Man of the Match for his goal and fantastic defensive display.
Next up is Burton Albion in the League Cup 3rd Round!
