Just started playing this, with Man Utd. Lost a pre-season friendly vs Leeds, then lost the Community Shield, then we suddenly improved and won 3 or 4 in a row. Lost one, then beat Liverpool 2-0 even though we had a man injured and a man sent off. Then lost 3 in a row and got sacked!!!
Gonna start again. What can I do to avoid this again???
try different tactics ? it was probably the way u were managing your side. what formation were u using
GK: De Gea
RB: Rafael
CB: Vidic
CB: Ferdinand
LB: Evra
CDM: Carrick
LM: Nani
RM: Valencia
CAM: Hazard
SC: Rooney
SC: Hernandez

4-2-2 diamond
I started a new one with Utd and with the same formation I beat Leicester 2-1.
i think you have to realise that your not going to smash every team every game . Occasionaly you will need to grind out results . . If your formation isnt working you can always change it around a bit :-)
But I can't deal with losing to rubbish teams for 2 or 3 games in a row or I will get sacked!

if you lose to rubbish teams 2 or 3 games in a row, thats because your tactics are wrong and you are not very comunicative in terms of skill. try you assistant manager delegating the prelections and stuff
u need to alter your tactics as the ones you are using obviously are not working .. try 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3.

Just a general comment, FM is considered a fairly "easy" game (look at the number of people who win a ton with what initially were weak clubs) but it doesn't mean things will just come for free. To do well, you do have to put in bit of time to understand what your team is capable of, and what tactical choices might mean. Doesn't mean you have to go read a ton of stuff, set up incredibly complex individual training regimes, etc. to have fun, but it takes a little.

Treat the first flameout as a learning experience. The shout above to let your assistant make suggestions is a fine one. For your initial report on the team, what formations were suggested as best for the club? I can see why the diamond is appealing with the particular personnel, maybe it's not the formation but the instructions? How did you lose? What worked, what didn't? As in... were you on attack the whole time but conceded silly goals on the counter? Did you fail to score and got beat by set piece goals? Did your players fail to pass successfully at all?
Jamie no one like's loosing to rubbish teams as you call them chap, but sometimes even the best do, all that you can do is alter your tactic, see what areas they are beating you and then combat that etc..

Just keep at it..

I need a formation with 2 strikers (Rooney and Hernandez)

I can't really because on PSP they are just little dots pinging a ball to each other.
