Hello, well i started a man city game, and made a story (which was poorly done, first time story) I felt no passion for the team and its been done a million times, too easy and so on. So i thought i'd choose something a little more interesting and challenging. I have decided to go Monaco. I've never managed outside of the english leagues, so I am looking forward to it. You can't fault they're beautiful kit!

--- AS MONACO FC ---

So it would seem I have 117k transfer budget. A few decent players and 137k/week wage limit.

I've started with a 4-2-3-1 Deep formation, so 2 DM and 3 AM.

--- SEASON TARGETS ---
I will be looking to freshen up the team and fight for promotion to get monaco back to where they belong in league 1.

--- TRANSFERS ---

None to report

---PRESEASON---
I started the game and 2 friendlies had already been played.

Le-Poure-sur-Vie VF 2-3 A Loss
Grasshoppers 0-0 A
Monaco Reserves - H 4-0 Win
Ajax 1-1 - Neutral
Beerschot 0-0 A

So not a bad start, just warming up and getting players match fit.

The highlight being the 1-1 draw with ajax away, had a player sent off and went 1-0 down so was happy with the fight back.

Hope this story is a little more interesting for you readers.

Thanks
Hi, are you still playing with Monaco? I have started many games with Monaco but i can't seem to make it work. Can I please have an update? :)
hope it goes well for you, some screenshots would be nice :) but will still be following this story
Its strange that you have 117k budget.

I am currently in my 3rd season with Monaco (January update) and first season I was offered 10 mil.

Off the top of my head my starting 11 looks like this (424):

GK Ruffier - quite good actually. First time Im using him.

LB: Corchia
RB: Monzon

CB: Kara plus one of Kagelmacher, Bocaly, Neuton, Capue, Mensah

LW/IF: Griezmann
RW/IF: I. Muniain (free this season!!)

CF: Yaya Sanogo
CF: D. Quintero

I also have players such as Placide (GK), Bandalovski (rb), Vanden Borre (rb/lb/cb/dm), M. Mariga (dm), Ramao (dm), Tzolis (dm), B. Jayiyia (cf/winger),Wallyson (cf/winger), Oxlade Chamberlain loan, Weiss and De Bruyne (loans -wingers).

Ive been very successful from the start and generally its a great save!! Very recommended.
I had a "mildly" successful Monaco save in FM2011, which I keep locked on my computer until I start playing FM again (after exams)

By the numbers:

7: seasons (2014-2021)
4: CL wins
7: CL semifinals
0: losses at home in the league
9: years I've been keeping "0" up
29: GD in the month of March 2018 with my 16 year old reserve keeper on the pitch
120 000: Size of the Stadium. Named after me
400 000 000 €: Transfer budget 2020
4 000 000 €: Highest yearly salary
2 800 000 €: MY salary
12: Number of players nominated for the World Golden ball, out of 50
17: Youngest player
17: Youngest player nominated for the World Golden ball from my team
5: Average goals scored at Stade Louis II against either Lyon or Marseille
90: Minutes of glory in one match

"mildly successful" :)

In any case... best of luck... enjoy the save :)

Bloody hell mate thats a great record!! And I thought my record was good ... :

First season: Treble (Ligue 2, Cup, League Cup)
Second Season: Quadruple (Ligue 1 - won in dramatic fashion in the last match of the season by one point. OL in second lost 2-1 away to Lille Gomis having missed a penalty which would have meant they won it as their gd was much better, Cup, League Cup and Europa League) plus "charity shield".

Third season: Lost charity shield to OM. Started season with 3 straight defeats. Currently in end of March Im 3rd 3 points off second and 6 off OM in first place who have one game in hand. In final of one cup and semis of other. In my CL group finished 2nd behind R Madrid. Faced Man Utd next. Drew 2-2 at home and won 6-2 away!!!!!

Btw I checked my squad- I also have Ostrzolek and Jali.
