Mhlongo is not injured, so I'd say that the under twenty side is trying to develop some depth. New signing Addai also slots straight into the Ghana under twenty side....

#61600 Kiwi : Amazulu are also in the PSL, so I have to ask, what was wrong with our purchase offer, or loan offering for you? Why would you want to go to a lesser team??

I think you should take this as a compliment. They clearly see you as bigger rivals than AmaZulu.
The club was willing, the player wasn't at all keen....got that poxy "red screen of death" with the oh-too-familiar "I do not wish to discuss terms with your club" or whatever it actually said, but it's akin to jog on.

As part of the youth intake, I had a few Serbian/South African players who hold dual nationality.

The following is indicative of their thoughts on international representation:

this is a really good read. you have asked me so i will ask you, how are your finances holding up?
Thanks for reading and commenting FM Rookie, I'm glad you are enjoying the story.

When I was in the NFD (ie second division) I had a couple of months were I would make a loss, generally due to playing three away games or some such. I had to be very hard on wages, and tight with my transfer budget which meant that most of my players and staff were free transfers with no comp payable.

The first couple of months in the PSL (Premier South African League) are not indicative yet, I still have the transfer proceeds from some players and my season tickets artificially inflating my income. I think the next month (Sept '14) will give me a clearer picture of where we sit with the books.

My methodology is still the same, if players get greedy, they get a smack, and if it happens too often, they get transferred.

And my Board still will not increase my wage budget, nor even discuss increasing my scouting range. What do I have to do?

I'm thinking if there was still the "ultimatum" option, I would have been released from my contract by now!
If the lack of players from South Africa don't tell the Board we need to increase our range, I don't know what will. One measly player from the African region!

Why they no risten?? :))
I was able to register Addai for the PSL competition, but am unsure about the ACC comp.

The PSL is a bit different to the NFD as there are less teams, and as such, there are now only three games on average per month. The upside is one of those is televised, but it'll be interesting to see how that works in with my finances, especially as the television rights were only 7K for the season.

Will that help offset a packed stadium once a month? Have I also had the bulk of my gate take for the year due to the sale of the season tickets?

I can see Sept being an interesting month financially!
Ha, I've organised friendlies during my down time in Sept, which should ease my concerns about the finances.

Two offered, two accepted. Away fixture against Maritburg to net 12K, and then home against Black Leopards to net 22K.

I'm hoping I can do something similar in the second week.
A trial for the month of September, when there seems to be a gap in the league, I have organised friendlies which should net 77.5K in appearance fees and gate takes, including massive fixtures against Black Leopards (Home 22K) and our former parent club Kaizer Chiefs (Away 20K).

I am intending to do this only for this month only at this stage, I will need to balance my desire to balance the books with the condition of my players.

It will probably be the case that the clubs will not be as excited to accept friendlies proposals if it is a monthly occurrence. We will have to be patient!
1 Sept '14

We managed to get through the transfer window (which has now closed) without any further poaching of players. For all the interest in Masabo from Pirates, it amounted to nothing, and I now have an (some would say it's a nice problem to have) issue whereby I have two classy goalies on my roster, and really only space to develop one of them.

I'm thinking Ngobese may be between the sticks during my upcoming friendlies.
August ’14 review

Gcaba, Khuzwayo and Ndluvo all impressive in training [and it is great to see that there are two youth players!]

Profit of 690K, but this is residual of player transfer monies and season tickets so is not an accurate reflection of a “normal” month.

“Manager of Month”, having lead team to three victories.

Board confidence at 56% (secure – what the…?)

Well within wage budget of 11.7K, and transfer funds remain 414K after the sale of Gomis.

Board is unwilling to move on wage or transfer budget, nor increase scouting range (my pet hobbyhorse at the moment!)

Fantastic endorsement of the direction the club is taking that all 12,150 season tickets were sold.

16.8.14 Home vs Ajax CT

It was great to start the season at home, at a near capacity crowd.

It was also great to see that the break hadn’t affected Mashego, as he opened the scoring on the third minute. That was soon followed by a red card for Ajax right defender Lakay, and from then on, we controlled the match and worked the overlap.

Khripunkov was the main recipient of Ajax’s generosity, scoring a hat trick on debut, although I shouldn’t be surprised, the lad looks the goods. Gabonamong slotted a goal back for Ajax to go to the break 3-1 behind, but it was never going to be enough. I gave youth players Mhlongo and Khuzwayo a run in the second spell, and Mhlongo scored to register his debut goal at sixteen years old. I wonder how long before he is a first team regular? A fantastic 5-1 win to us.

20.8.14 Away to FS Stars

Mashego is still very much our lynchpin, with Mngadi this time providing the technical play to assist. At half time we were 0-2 up and looking comfortable, and by the end of the game, Mashego had a hat trick.

New midfield signing Ngwenya took his chance on goal after a well worked move from youth right defender Khuzweyo, and I also gave youth striker Qalanto a forty five min workout in our 0-4 win.

23.8.14 Home to Black Leopards

Our very first sellout crowd came to watch the rivalry between Dynamos and the Black Leopards.

We didn’t treat the crowd in the first half, as we went to the sheds nil all, and plenty of opportunities missed for both sides. It wasn’t until Mashego latched onto a ball from Mngadi to score in the fifty ninth minute that we could relax slightly.

Gcaba took his revenge late in the piece after being bought down during a corner move to sweetly caress the ball into the back of the net from the spot, which effectively killed off any thoughts of a comeback by the Black Leopards for us to record a 2-0 win. Qalanto and Mhlongo were injected into the game late in the piece for fresh legs and so that they could soak up the atmosphere, but they had little time to make any sort of real impression.
When I saw that centre back Sait had left agent Coetesse, I was interested to see that plenty of Dynamos players were still represented by him.

I was equally shocked to see that I was one of his most disliked people! Sodding agents and their demands!
