It's okay Akash, FM 13 is out in a matter of weeks. Hold on until then. :-)

23 Sep 14 away v Sundowns

The old saying is that a win is a win is a win, and I agree….we won ugly.

Cards flew from kick off, and we were the worst offenders copping a 6-2 card count against us, culminating in centre back Sait being sent from the field in the 86 min for ungentlemanly conduct.

Striker Mngadi was also substituted for a bruised rib late in the piece.

We were on the wrong end most of the statistics, except for the one that mattered when Mashego tapped in a cross from Mngadi in the sixty eighth minute to record a 0-1 win.

It shows that we can mix it with the big boys!
The away game against Maritzburg highlighted the lack of depth that Dynamos have, particularly as we play through the international fixture windows. Losing four players to internationals, two to injury and one to suspension did not help my mood any.

In that respect, Ahmed Shaaban, my Egyptian centre back can't arrive quickly enough. Only another three of so months.
Okay, I am doing the funky chicken dance about the place now....after an age of asking...

Okay, it also removed the feeder club option for the meantime, but I am almost Tom Cruise crazy (jumping on couches) to get the scouting range expanded. It has taken an age, to the stage that I was questioning whether it was even possible.

See Akash, that is what happens when you leave for a month, even your Chairman is pleased to see you back and will give into to your demands. <cue evil laughter>.
Sept 14 review

Onana, Simonivic and Brasanac impressive in training. Unfortunately Khwela not so much.

Mashego is continuing to make great strides in training.

“Manager of Month”, having lead team to three victories.

Board confidence at 65% (very secure)

Continue to operate with wage and transfer budgets

Profit of 72K this month, but I’ll take it

When I saw the "Scouting Range Upgraded", I knew a message for me would follow. I remember you whining and cribbing about how your board doesn't give you a scouting upgrade. Now, that you have it, let us see what you do with it.
Winning against Sundowns? I am shocked, really!
I was shocked to say the least, particularly when the word around the traps was that South African teams may not actually ever allow you to scout outside the continent.

Short term, I don't think I'll be doing anything with it, as I have my full compliment of five "overseas" players locked down, so I won't be signing any further offshore players anytime soon. Add to that that I don't like to break the bank for South African players, I am not sure what I will be able to tempt any back from say the EPL.

It does however, feel great! :-)

EDIT: The win against Sundowns was an edge of seat affair for me, I was in fear that more of my players would get red carded, or that Sundowns would find the net. I was relieved when the clock wound down.

Scouting around the world is one thing ... actually getting the players you find to sign for you is an entirely differently story.
I agree Sniper because I won't pay obscene amounts for compo or wages, nevertheless it did feel good.

17.9.14 Home to Bidvest Wits

Mashego scored a hattrick in the opening half, and left defender Radebe picked up a card, but it was Mashego’s play that broke the will of the Wits.

Although they finished strongly, they also picked up four yellow cards in the second spell, as well as a late consolation goal as a cross found its mark. Edgard missed a tackle and left a simple finish for young midfielder Masalesa.

Comfortable 3-1 win for us

23.9.12 Away to Sundowns

Not the greatest match if you were looking for a textbook free flowing, attacking, football. The hallmarks of the game were tackle, tackle and tackle some more.

Cards flew as neither side wanted to give an inch, and we had central defender Sait sent from the field in the 86 min (his wallet will be a bit lighter when I have finished with him), as well as striker Mngadi injured in the seventy seven minute. A strike from Mashego was enough to give us a hard fought 0-1 win, but oddly, Sundowns captain and central defender Letlabeka was awarded MOM honours.

Another pleasing aspect of the win was how we dealt with the pressure applied by former teammate Gomis.

23.9.12 Away to Maritzburg Utd

With a smallish squad and lacking six players due to international call ups, injuries and untimely suspensions (I’m looking at you Sait), I was concerned firstly with just being able to put a team on the paddock. My blood was boiling when sixteen year old promising utility Mhlongo was carted off in the sixth minute – the only good news is it is not a serious injury – and then substitute Qalanto took a heavy knock and also needed to be substituted.

Onana went some way to being forgiven for the suspensions which kept him out of action during the early part of the season by opening the scoring from his thunderous left boot. A magic goal from well outside the box, it gave us the early advantage.

Denis Khripunkov then repaid my early faith in him with a solid hat-trick to hammer home our advantage. This man is a machine and will do great things in the future. Defenders Bobbs and Ngobeni were carded, and we let in another soft goal late in the piece to midfielder Madondo, but we prevailed in a 1-4 win.
This new scouting range is a blessing and a curse. I am finding that many players - like in New Zealand - head to the MLS in America [Think Ryan Nelsen]. So, I can now scout players in America, BUT can't sign them.

I get a message that reads "Dynamos are not allowed to sign youth players from the American Developmental League as they are draft protected."

And the lad I was interested in was 20!
The other aspect of the PSL I am struggling with is why do we lose players to international fixtures which clash with domestic games and then have a three week gap where nothing is scheduled.

Feast or famine territory if you ask me.
Another South African squad named with hardly any players playing in Africa.
