cheers m8..... although I cancelled Ibra's loan, he was released by PSG, there is no way I can get him in on a permanent deal, he wants like 200k per week, bit high for little old Reading.

I have wrapped up 3 very exciting bosmans during thue summer I am currently in, info will be in the next update. Very happy and excited with them, big names I think, to come to Reading, may take us to that next level :)
:/ whyyyy
why? ibra's loan?

well, he is 33 in game, still amazing, high stats, high star rating, and I was only paying 10 percent of his on loan wages.

But after he made an awesome start to his loan career with me, his form dropped, as did the whole teams, during the December period I have spoken about on page 1 of this story.

So I decided to cancel a few loan deals, and also sell some of the players. Get back to basics and the core team, that had done so well for me.

That meant it was time for Adam Le Fondre and Shane Long to return to play regularly upfront.

Both have been immense for me, and were, looking back, harsly dropped, but you cant turn down ibra can you lol.

Le Fondre has scored, in season 2012-2013 and 2013-2014, 18+ premier league goals per season, its a great return.

And now with Long back to, banging them in, when Le Fondre doesnt start or is in poor form, I did have options to fall back on after cancelling Ibra's loan spell. :)
Ah ok, how's Big Fat Frank then?
he is doing well. 36 now so obviously not in his prime, and not so much a goal scorer at the moment, probably more so because of the current formation.

But he is a solid performer, still rated highly by the assistant and coachs, very experienced and good for tutoring as well. still fit too, he is playing a lot in a deep lying play maker role :)

My best player so far, well, since I signed him in JAN, is Winstone Reid, from West Ham. My god what a signing. He has been immense, high match ratings every game, solid as a rock, defence is alot tighter now. well chuffed :)

Season Review

Delighted to finish 11th in the league, especially after the bad run of form in November and December.

Winston Reid’s signings proved to be an amazing piece of business.
Shane Long and Adam Le Fondre started banging in the goals again for me.
Mikele Leigertwood was as consistent, solid and good as before.
Nacer Chadil also picked up his performances.
Jem Karacan managed to get and keep a first team spot.
Kaspars Gorkss gets even better with age

The Reading FC Board are delighted with my leadership qualities, which is great.

My finances look very strong, after finishing so high in the league, getting all the premier league sponsor money in at the end of the season and not buying any players really, or spending big amounts.

And, once again, as we do, I have picked up some great summer bosmans!

The summer of the bosmans, and the 3 AMIGOS.
Given the decent 11th place finish, and the budget I have managed to build up, I worked my magic in the bosman area this summer. Some of the older players will leave on a fee this summer to, releasing further funds in the wage buget, and I will also look to sell some players, to free up more wages and gain some extra transfer money.

Not initially interested, I managed to pick up the very much talented and young players below.

I am delighted to sign them all, the wages etc are not too high, and they will really add to my squad.

GK. RON-ROBERT ZIELER-what a coup getting this guy in. A former Manchester United youngster, he is in the German National team set-up, in game and IRL, and is very highly rated and south after now, having left united, for first team football with Hannover.

RB. DIACKO FOFANA-young French right back, with all the attributes and potential to be a very good right back. 20 years old, I initially tried to buy him, but my bids were rejected. I then noticed his contracted was running down, so I noted my interest in him, and waited to see if he would or wouldn’t sign a new deal at his current club. He didn’t, and I picked him up on a free, after bidding for him early in the season to the tune of 4mil.

THE 3 AMIGOS

All young. All talented. All on a bosman. All looking for first team football. All from La Masia, Barcelona.

I can express how delighted I am to have wrapped up deals for these 3 boys, who I think will go on to be full Spanish internationals at some point, and become very good players.
RAFINHA-young Spanish/Brazilian youngster, signed for a free from Barcelona. Not given enough game time there, but filled with talent. Once he settles in to the English game, I am sure he will be a steal.

ISAAC CUENCA-another young Spanish highly rated youngster, from Barcelona, He can play on wing, adding pace, skills and ability to the team.

CRISTIAN TELLO-probably the most well known Barca youngster from the 3, Tello is very highly rated, IRL. Linked with moves to most top European clubs IRL, he has signed a new contract with Barca, IRL. This is a major signing for Reading, he can play either wing or up front, and this is a future Spain international I believe.

TRANSFERS IN.

After capturing some really young and highly talented youngsters on bosman’s, and adding to a good league finish, I have been able to work on some other massive deals for Reading FC, to really take us to the next level, in terms of reputation and hopefully league position.

7MIL. WILL HUGHES-one of the hottest English properties in the English game IRL, he is now 19 years old, and has stayed at Derby for his whole career to date. Rated as a wonderkid, he has performed brilliantly in the championship the past 2 seasons. With Lampard to tutor him as well, this is the future of England

5MIL. JAMES TOMKINS-another really good young English centre back. Has played for West Ham to a very high level the last few seasons. Is English, and has played with Winston Reid before at West Ham. Should come in, adapt, and play well right from the start.

7.5MIL. JAVIER “CHICHARITO” HERNANDEZ-THE BIGGEST SIGNING IN READING HISTORY! YOUR EYES DO NOT DECEIVE YOU!
In his mid twenties, goal scoring machine for United IRL and on the game, he was on the transfer list. Pushed my wage budget to the maximum to get him in, he is guaranteed goals. He is also a massive name in the game, and has boosted shirt sales and our reputation by signing with us. Not even in his prime yet, he will go down as a Reading FC legend, if I can keep hold of him!

FREE-ASHLEY COLE-yes the one and only Ashley Cole. A total dick as a person but a great player no doubt, he is 34 now in the game, but still very good and obviously very experienced. I have only Gunter as a left back option, so Cole will come in and provide depth and competition to that position. Wouldn’t sign for me on a bosman from Chelsea, but after being released, and sitting on the freebie market, he changed his mind

2015-2016

A NEW DAWN AND ERA FOR READING FC.

Given the money spent, reputation and potential of the players signed, and the decent league finish last season, the pressure is really on now, not to e involved with any type of relegation battle.
The board have set me a mid-table finish, which I think is fair enough, and I hope shows that I am moving the club and team upwards. I would like to expand the stadium at some point to increase revenue, I have asked 4-5 times now, and I am always rejected.
The transfer budget is £2 haha, for obvious reasons, that is fine by me.

NEW CONTRACT
My good work has seen me rewarded with a new contract!
I tried to remove the “attacking” football part of the board expectations sections, but every time I removed it and renegotiated, the board put it back in, but bumped up the wages. I finally agreed to keep it in, as they raised my wages to a very decent level. This shows commitment on both sides.

NEW FORMATION 4-2-3-1
With the players now available to me, and the board still wanting me to play attacking football, I have tweaked my formation and tactics as below.
With this I hope to be a good attacking unit, having possession, creating chances, and keeping the ball.
I hope to get the best out of my 3 Spanish amigos in this formation, as well as chicha. I will use Lampards experience from deep, as well as the solid brick wall and consistent unit of Leigertwood, to make sure we don’t get overrun.
Ashley Cole will come in at left back. 34 years old. But still a very good player.

GOOD INTENTIONS.........
Heading in to pre-season I was happy.
I had my new look squad, with the strong foundations still at the club.
I had my new formation and philosophy.
I was set......... to obviously FAIL.

Barnet 1-2 Reading-an average performance, but ok, it’s the first game back, new players bedding in etc

Crewe 1-1 Reading-another new formation tried, a rotated team, players still getting fully fit.

Boreham Wood 1-Reading-good away win, in a friendly, now let’s kick on.

Juventus 2-2 Reading-went 2-0 up, playing Juve off the park, switched players and formation at half time, resulted in them getting 2 goals and a draw.

Reading 1-7 AC Milan-home game, why not be bold and try the new attacking formations I have set up........ WHY TRY THEM! Lost 7-1, everyone was shit, Milan destroyed me, and the attacking football is in disarray.

Reading 0-3 Roma-ok so let’s try some new tweaks, still attacking as the board want........and still get thumped.
The worst pre-season since I have been here!

Liverpool is my first game, then Arsenal, then Man United soon after, a great set of fixtures!!!
Worried, I will try to go attacking and bed this formation in and the new players, I will see how things go, but I may revert to my counter attacking formation that did me so well at the end of the previous season.
And he is a good ole Kiwi too, so glad to hear he is performing so well for you!!

Bad luck with the pre-season though, I have every faith you will turn it around!

cheers Kiwi, thanks for following as well.

He was a bit of a gamble. I know IRL he is performing really well. I remember seeing him just after his move to West Ham, and I wasnt very impressed, to be far to him he had moved from a part time player role, to a full time role. So that sticks in my mind.
Plus he was now playing in the championship again, with West Ham, as they had been relegated.

But I took the plunge. Tried a summer bid of 4mil, they rejected it. Then as his contract was winding down and he wouldnt sign a new one, got him for 1.8mil. He has been immense ever since :)
really nice signings, especially the beast himself "CHICHARITO".
Bad pre-season but without any doubt you will do well in the prem !
