Lower League Diaries II - Erith & Belvedere

Technically, I had around 4 players tied down to amateur contracts when I took over, so I'm not going to call the players I've got in as signings. They are the team, plain and simple.

I know this story isn't as refined or as well done as the others and that is because I wanted to get out of level 9 and 8 as quickly as possible before I put in a lot of effort. As of right now, the issues expressed by one of the members hasn't had any effect on my game, but I don't want to give this save "everything" and then feel bad for abandoning it.

I will post multiple screenshots of how my first season at Erith and Belvedere went, and I loved it. Incredible season. Stay tuned for the screenies!

Before I reveal exactly what happened in the season, here's what the season review was for my team.


As you can see, my board was clearly happy with the team's performance and how I was managing the team. Here's my confidence report. While it is clear we did very well in competitions, it is interesting to note that even after signing 50 players and most of them being unhappy at some time or the other during the long season (which I believe had us play 58 competitive matches), my squad harmony, transfers and players are in really good shape.


£75k doesn't sound like a lot of money for a football club, but considering the club was worth nothing more than £4k when I took over, I think it is safe to say it is moving in the right direction. More work to be done though!

The first two seasons in the 9th tier went very well.
The bugs started after gaining promotion in the 8th tier.
But if you survive in the 8th tier and manage in the end promotion it will be better.
In the 7th tier there are no big bugs yet.
You play again in the FA Cup and have a reasonable budget. Well reasonable, I can pay only 200/week for every player.
Anyway it's better than in the 8th tier where it's horror. Who knows maybe if you manage another team, not Witney Town, my team you can get at least a decent wage budget.
I hope I'll manage in the end to enter th 6th tier and I'll keep playing for many seasons until I reach the League Two. Then with professional football no more fun. I will resign, hopefully I will be a legend of the club and will come back as unemployed to search for another team in the 9th tier. It's so much fun in the lower leagues. Still long way till that point. I am in 2016 and playing in the 7th tier. I hope that the year 2018 will find me in the 6th tier Blue Square South.

It won't be too difficult to guess that I've won the Kent Premier League, reaching the Regional First Division. Initially, it seemed like Whyteleafe FC would never let our team become outright leaders, but thankfully, midway through the season, they started dropping points and we kept on winning.


Probably the easiest of the cups, only because of its name, was the Kent Challenge Cup. With the participating teams being from my division and below, we should've expected to win, but our board only expected us to reach the second round. I wasn't going to live with that of course. Even after resting quite a few first teamers, expectations were high.


Same as above. By the time the latter stages of this tournament arrived, I was too busy with doing well in the FA Vase, so I let the kids (some even with silver stars) take the field against the same teams I faced in the Challenge Cup.


Speaking of the FA Vase, there were no expectations from us in this tournament. We began in the qualification stage and were only expected to reach the first round. The most we could do was probably cause an upset, right? WRONG! We went ahead and won the whole damn thing.

You have helped me a lot, vladsofro. I'm serious. If I had not read your first comment, I would've probably left the game after the horrible 8th tier. I will surely keep you updated and you make sure you update me too!
