Great signings as well as the wins. Congrats on another cup.
A bad move appointing David Beckham as captain, I'd say. I like long-term captains or at least captains that will last six to seven years maximum... Beckham as captain just doesn't fit my bill. More like a second vice-captain.

Nevertheless, this continues to be a great story and hopefully I see more.

I understand your point, for now I want Beckham to be captain then next season Wilshere will be my long term captain, I don't think Wilshere is quite ready at that moment

Thanks a lot mate!
I agree with Glenn, but it's your decision. He did play well in some matches, so I think he deserves it.

Yeah I understand your points :)
Great wins against City and Spurs :)

Los Blancos

Here we were playing in Eden for a chance to win yet another trophy but there was a problem, before we could win another trophy we had to defeat the almighty Los Blancos who had in form Ronaldo in their side.

Before the game all the players were anxious, to be given the chance to play against a team such as Madrid was a huge honor however I had to pick my squad wisely.

Arsenal Starting lineup: W Szczensy, Carl Jenkinson, Raphael Varane, Glen Johnson, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Victor Moses, Andre Schurrle, Santi Cazorla, Danny Welbeck.

Madrid Starting lineup: Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Pepe,Thomas Vermalen, Marcelo, Khedira, Xabi Alonso, Luka Modric, Mesut Ozil, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema

Looking at their lineup one would be frightened but not us, we remembered we had won the champions league, we were going to take the game to Madrid from the blow of the whistle. The plan was to not give them any time to become comfortable and in the end that plan worked. We won the game 4-0!

Our defense was rock solid thanks to a brilliant man of the match performance from Vidic. He didn't let anyone pass him and was dominant in the air throughout the whole game.

Yet another trophy for us which is absolutely brilliant. The whole squad is buzzing and the fans are happy which is important, I am also happy.

Great result mate! I envy you. I challenge to beat Real Madrid 8-2 tho ;)

haha thats possible but will be very hard
4-0! How on earth did you do that?! Madrid's team is still great, and you win 4-0! Who's their manager? He must be sacked this instant! :D

Haha, The King has power my friend. Madrid's manager is Jurgen Kloop

Match Day

Our second game of the season was against Wigan at the Emirates. An easy win is what we thought we would have. However Wigan had other plans for us and they definitely wanted to prove a point to us.

Wigan started off the game dominating possession and taking a lot of shots. Arouna Kone definitely proved a point when he scored to put Wigan 1-0 up. The team responded well as we started to dominate possession but all of a sudden things started to turn ugly. Arouna Kone scored a header making it 2-0 to Wigan, a complete disaster the game was turning out to be put the team had fighting spirit. Angelo Ogbonna managed to pull one back for us with a nice half volley to make the score 2-1.

During half time I told the boys that we have the ability to turn this game around and we must believe ourselves. In the 61st minute Walcott scored a brilliant goal dribbling past two players before placing the ball into the bottom corner. 2-2. Victor Moses made it 3-2 when he too dribbled past two players but he smashed his goal into the top corner. Danny Welbeck then put the game to bed making it 4-2.

A great comeback from the team and a well deserved three points.

Interview with the BBC

We had a short interview with Henry and this is what he had to say.

R:Welcome Thierry Henry, now you've had a splendid time at Arsenal. You've just spent over a year and you've already one five trophies, that's simply incredible!

Th: *smiles* Thank you for the kind words my friend. Yes I have really enjoyed myself at Arsenal as its a club I love to bits, its my home. Till today I can't believe that from suffering a trophy drought for 7 years we've gone on to win 5 trophies.

R:What would you say, has lead to the sudden success Arsenal are experiencing?

Th:Well, there's no real secret. Constant hard work on the the pitch, at training as helped us a lot. Also the players constantly motivating each other has really helped a lot.

R:How long do you plan to stay with Arsenal? You have been linked with Barcelona and Madrid in the past.

Th: As you said I was ''linked''. I plan to stay with Arsenal till they kick me out *laughs*
I am touching wood now so they don't kick you out the next day :P
