2013-03-17 00:22#85269 neal09 : Excellent results, undefeated! :D
It's a long shot, but I'm going to try and go the whole season unbeaten!

You can use my first season with Inter as inspiration ;)
Will do, but football in this tier of england is a little different from football at Serie A. xD Cheers, Shanked.

PSH amateur English football, top level professional Italian football, it's all the same :P
I think its probably quite a lot harder to go unbeaten as Inter, though.

Ah, no sweat when you're as amazingly fantastic at life as I am ;P
Good start Toon, keep it up :)

Dover Salutes Salvatici

Ever since the Italian took over the club 3 months ago, it looks as if the White's future is looking up. So far unbeaten in all competitions and top of the league, there is no other situation that Dover fans could hope to be in, they can only wish that Salvatici continues to command the squad well.

The Whites are spending their fourth season in the division this year, their first year, after promotion, they finished second but did not win the playoffs, followed by two consecutive seasons finishing seventh. This year, they enter with a brighter, positive approach with a manager who looks like he could just get them the promotion they deserve.

Salvatici announced before the league kicked off that Steven Thompson would no longer carry the captain's armband, and would be replaced by center-back Ian Simpemba, a man who seemed very pleased with the new head-coach. "I am really looking forward to the season ahead. As captain I can make a big difference." Simpemba told press. "I think Santo can bring us success, and I plan to be a part of that success."
Great stuff mate keep it up!! :)
My local club!!!! keep it up, enjoying reading this.

It's been a fantastic experience so far, and I'm glad to get to the end of 2012 at the top of the table. I just hope we can continue how we're playing, and we might even be able to go the season unbeaten- far-fetched as it seems.

FA CUP
We did great to get so far in the cup, but alas, I couldn't expect the boys to get a result against a team in the npower leagues. It was good while it lasted, and it wasn't pointless as we earned some nice cash to help us along.

FA TROPHY
We've made a promising start in the FA Trophy, and it's some silverware that I think we're capable of winning. It's not my priority, but we are in it to win it!

Striker Conundrum

Santo Salvatici may have a bit of a headache over which strikers to pick for the second half of the season, with three of his front-men performing exquisitely in 2012. The three in question are Ben May, Sami Ben Aoun and Calum Willock, all three having at least 10 goals in the league, only 22 games in to the season.

Ben May took the spotlight up until November, as he had already earned all 10 of his premier league goals, as well as scoring in other competitions. Taking the role of target-man but also bagging a handful of self-made goals for himself, May looked like a wonder. Unfortunately, the man with the most goals in the league suffered in an injury that would put him out for the remainder of 2012, if not longer. With May out, the Whites needed a target man to fill in for him while absent. Calum Willock would be the man to fill his boots, and while his first few games proved a slow start, he eventually picked up the pace and looked a mirror of Ben May, if not better, scoring 11 league goals.
Sami Ben Aoun, the third striker, signed by Salvatici in July, is perhaps the most impressive of the three. Despite playing more games than both of them and only bagging 10 goals, equal to May, he has accumulated an impressive 13 assists to date, making him the top goal-maker in the league. He has made partnerships with both May and Willock, and his playmaker/poacher style complements them both.

Ben Aoun is likely to remain in the team, but the real question is, who will join him? Will Salvatici pick the man who, at the start of the season would be considered Dover's best forward by a long way or the backup-man Willock with 11 in 13?
Unlucky with all the strikers, but brilliant start so far. Congrats on 1st place! :D
Cheers! Hoping to stay there for auto prom.

We've really knuckled down and cemented our lead in the league. We remain unbeaten, and it would take a massive cock-up to lose the promotion spot now. Even if we lost every game now, we'd still end up mid-table, and there is a couple of months remaining. We just need to get the best results we can and get as many points as possible!
