Truro City - The hardest job in football

Hey guys,

I've decided to go for a challenge on this years football manager and take over Truro City who are in a dyer situation with finances and find themselves in administration and not being able to sign any players. It will be a tough ask trying to save them from relegation from the Blue Square South and get back fighting at the top of the leagues.

I will be trying to update you guys as much as possible and see where we end up. Ultimately I want to make Truro City the biggest team in world football, (haha) how unrealistic does that sound!

Well here we go and wish me luck!
Good luck! Will be following.

P.S. As you seem to be a new storywriter, let me share with you a few tips.

1) Do not be upset if you receive little comments, because there are tons of people on here who read without commenting.

2) Don't be upset if you get criticism. Criticism is for you to improve, not for you to cry over.

3) Don't get angry or unhappy if someone says your story is shit, or if you think your own story is shit. It is after all, your first story. It takes time. :)

Well, once again, I bid you good luck.

Alright, I just read your first story that was done in December and I have more tips for you.

-Don't do season-by-season updates. They are not entertaining enough and your best bet would be to do month-by-month updates. If you can't be bothered to do such updates, you shouldn't be writing a story at all.

-Get on General Chat as much as you can. The people there are extremely helpful and at least 1/2 of them are well-versed in the art of FM story-writing. Just introduce yourself, be nice, and ask for tips if you need them.

-Read other stories. They can help. A lot.

There you go. :)
i agree with glenn, i had critism when i started myleamington story but now it is well followed and written

Thanks for the advice, I will try to follow this advice and do month by month updates :)
No problem, glad to help. I'll be following closely :D
Agree with Glenn completely, so good luck for this :)
As everyone I agree with Glenn ;)

Good luck with Truro, I'm starting too a story in Blue Square Bet South so I will closely follow your progress :P
I also agree with Glenn. I looked at my first story - it was absolute shit compared to my Rubin Kazan one. :P

Anyway, good luck! I love seeing stories involving LLM, they're great to read. As Glenn said, I may not comment often on your story, but I will certainly read it. Good luck again ;)

Truro City - Season 1 - Blue Square South - Media Prediction - 22nd - Hope for - to to avoid relegation

The Adventure begins!

So here we go this is the tactic I have decided to set up for my Truro team, its a simple 4-4-2 as I know the players down in these league are normally useless so I don't really want to over complicate things for them. I'm using a Rigid and attacking style of play and asking them to stick to position as I don't want them roaming about the place like headless chickens. I have managed to bring in a few free signings in as the clubs debt was restructured a few weeks in apparantley but nothing really of any quality as the wages are already -£1000 p/w so its only letting me offer £0p/w or 5p/w to get somebody in. Effectively my main objective this season is try and stop Truro from being relegated as I want to take them all the way to the top! So anything above the relegation zone is a bonus!

So the friendlies didn't turn out to bad considering the squad I had at my disposal having only 1 loss to Plymouth Argyle, 3 draws and 2 wins. With the team training I have put both the general and match training onto tactics to try and speed up the familiarisation with the tactics.

So onto the season, and lets see how we fair in the first month!
That is more like it buddy!
Brilliant start for a rookie. Not the best of pre-seasons but you are Truro after all :P Keep it up!

Season 1 - August 2012

So.... my first month in charge of Truro City in the Blue square South is complete and the pre-season media prediction of 22nd and last is not looking completely out of the question at the present moment as the team only picked up 2 points from 12 in the first 4 games and languishing at the foot of the table.

http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb455/blyzee1/results_zpsdfacff38.png

There were some positives to take out of the month as we are actually putting the ball in the back of the net however our defensive frailties are showing and conceding far too many goals throwing valuable points down the drain. Looking at the team comparisons we can clearly see we have some of the poorer players in the league, so I am going to have to do a bit of searching myself and find some players that can add a bit of quality if that is even possible at this level.

I have managed to bring in a player called Nicholas Lyskov to try and sure up the defence a bit as I feel we are conceding far too many goals, plus my scout said he would do a job :)

Lets hope the team starts to gel and start getting a few wins under our belt in September!
Like the signing, looks like he could be a great one in the long term.

A tough starting month but you'll improve. Keep going! :D
Not the best results but I'm sure that it will improve.

Good luck ;)
