Today, Chorley FC, a little known club in the heart of Lancashire, have announced Matty Sellers as their new manager after Gary Flitcroft had stepped down in the early hours of the morning. Sellers, who picked up a handful of caps for England during his playing days has already expressed a desire to do well for the club and possibly lead them into the football league. A press conference is expected to take place within the coming days.

(sorry if this is rubbish,my first post and first attempt at one of these, any feedback is good feedback though?)
Good start try to put a little more detail in post for abit of depth but otherwise its a good post. Will be following.

Good luck!

Do we get daily updates on 'Chorley FM. Coming in your ears'? (Phoenix nights pun)
Yeah, I was going to, but I didn't want to rush in and get it all wrong haha

Haha, to be honest Phoenix Nights is one of the reasons I decided to pick them.
Press Officer: Ladies and Gentlemen of the press, please take your seats, the press conference is about to begin.

Sellers: Before we start, I would just like to say that I am really happy to be here and the chairman has definitely made the correct choice to replace Flitty (Garry Flitcroft) with me, so lets get this started then..

Dave Smith: Hi Matty, Dave Smith, BBC North West Sports Correspondent, With all due respect you could have jumped into any vacant managers job in the football league with your reputation, so why chose a team languishing in the depths of the evostick northern premier?

Matty Sellers: Hi Dave, In regards to your question, it is the fact that this is my first job and I want to prove myself as a manager. I don't want to go in to a larger club and feel the instant pressure, also it is not a given right that a manager should walk into a job when they have no experience of management.

Lewis Elliot: Hi, Lewis Elliot , Radio Lancs, With Garry Flitcroft gone, does his younger brother Steve still have a place at the club?

MS: If Steve can do a job he can stay if he wants.

Spencer Jones: Spencer Jones, The Chorley Informer, What do you intend to do with the squad, will it be changed considerably or can we expect to see the likes of Matt Jansen and Andy Teague in the starting line up?

MS: If a player fits into my style of play and they are of a good enough quality, they can stay.

Press Officer: This conference is over, Matty will no longer answer questions, Thank you for your attendance.
Great stuff mate!!!!
Good start, you have instantly caught my eye :) Good luck :)
Awesome start to this story i look forward to reading it
PRE-SEASON REPORT:

http://www.poppysigns.co.uk/assets/images/Chorley-Football-Club-Badge.jpg

So after a few weeks of getting to know the staff and the squad and thinking of a suitable way to play, I finally assessed the whole club.
On the Staff side, we have a small set of guys in roles they aren't good enough for.
However, the playing side is much more promising, only problem is we only have a small squad and a lot of my players are left backs, this will be addressed.
The best player so far looks like ex-Blackburn and crystal palace forward Matt Jansen, and although he is aging, he should be quality for a few more years.

Staff Changes:
In:
Rob Lee (Assistant Manager)
Brian Deane (Coach)
Mal Downing (Coach)
Martin Ollier (Physio)
Jeff Minton (Scout)
Andrew Bernal (Scout)
Thomas Baillie (Head of Youth)
Out:
Mike Quigley (Assistant Manager)
Gerry Luczka (Physio)

The two departing staff we're, as stated before, substandard, prompting me to bring a new coaching team filled with high determination and experience.
Rob Lee looks a quality assistant for this level, he like me strives for success. Brian Deane is a very good coach for this level and my strikers will definitely benefit from his presence. Mal Downing is a very experienced coach who is also a very good goalkeeping coach, Although he has no direct experience as a player, he has coached at these levels before so he knows what he's doing.

Players Out:
Ciaran Kilheely (Free)
Steve Foster (Doncaster for Free)
Tom Walker (Free to Kendal)
Tom Ince (Free to Trafford)
Players In:
John Courtney (Free From Vauxhall)
James Dyson (Free From Stourbridge)
Andy Bratt (Free From Newcastle Town)
Josh Powell (Free Agent)
Simon Fitter (Free Agent)
Andeele Martins (Free Agent)
Sam Duncum (Free From Buxton)
Liam Henderson (End of season Loan from York)
Jason St. Juste (End of season Loan from FC Halifax)
Bradley Barnes (6 month Loan from Fylde)

The squad was relatively strong for this division, however, I have decided to bring in some additions to make the squad even better and give it some much needed depth, they also suit the formation I will implement, a basic 4-4-2 where we try and play through teams directly.
The main signing is John Courtney. He is a young goalkeeper who is a much stronger than my current one and at the age of nineteen, he looks safe for a few years yet.Another key signing is Liam Henderson on loan. He is a great finisher and could slot into any blue square premier side, he also should compliment Matt Jansen well upfront,
Now onto some friendlies...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/content/images/2008/10/06/victory_park_chorley_470x171.jpg
Friendly results
Preston 0-1 (H)
Chester 1-3 (H) Cuncliffe 16"
Hyde 3-1 (A) Cuncliffe (2) 64" 68" Denham 90"+1
Stalybridge 1-2 (H) Walmsley 12"
Aston Villa 1-3 (H) Martins 37"
Rochester 5-1 (A) Martins 8" Cuncliffe 14" Flitcroft 45" Denham (2) 63" 83"
Lancaster City 1-2 (A) Williams 76"

A shaky pre-season in terms of results however I am confident now the team are used to the style of play they will be able to cause some problems in the league. I have been very impressed by Chris Denhams link up play with Andeele Martins as I looked for the best backups for Jansen and Dickinson (Hence they were rested in the friendlies to conserve much needed energy that is needed at this level). The real star though was John Cuncliffe 4 goals in 7 games. He will be starting in my Midfield to give a boost to the assists and goals. Very happy with the results against Rochester and Hyde, beating a Blue Square Bet side already is showing my team are good enough for that division.

Before I go any further shall I do a summary of the squad? If so, how should I do It? Also should I include dates of games? All feedback is good.
Awesome start mate! The Villa result is good! 3-1 against a PL club is fantastic!

Just finished the first season after an intense amount of time on it, some even better results than that!
A Very Average August http://www.kendaltown.com/filestore/library/images/Celebration%20Vs%20Chorley.jpg
17.8.2012 (A) Stocksbridge 2-2
Denham 24" Russell 43"
21.8.2012 (H) Witton 3-0
Denham 14" St Juste 19" Bratt 45"+1
25.8.2012 (H) Grantham 3-2
Russell 28" Denham 81" Henderson 90"+1
27.8.2012 (A) Marine 1-2
Martins 15"

A solid start to the season, Picking up 7 points from an available 12. John Cunliffe has been extremely dissapointing and subsequently been placed in the reserves. One shining light is that the strikers look solid, Also Courtney in goal is very hard to beat. My defence needs strengthening, I have my eyes on a few players, but nothing concrete.
Chorley this will be a good story. xD
