After a long battle against relegation when Leeds really should have been chasing promotion, they have finally survived after some late drama. It looked to be Peterborough who would stay up until the last ten minutes, in which time Leeds netted three goals to secure survival.

With only one game to go on this month, Ross McCormack has been picked out as the best Leeds player in May. His two goals were a massive help towards his side's last day survival.

Can't tell if it's a genuine sentiment or sarcasm due to the fact we've only just avoided relegation, but either way, it's motivated me to do well next season so thanks :D

MANAGER'S MEMO

It's been a diappoinnting year. But having said that, I'm hyped up about the challenge of turning these relegation survivors into promotion contenders if not title contenders over the summer. The core I want to build around is this:

Sam Byram
Tom Lees
Aidan White
Robert Snodgrass
Iago Falque
Three from Dominic Poleon, Ross McCormack, Luciano Becchio and Marko Pantelic

The rest will be replaced by a squad that I want to build purely from scouting missions. It will be a gamble but one I am prepared to take

Leeds United are proud to announce the signing of 19-year-old Freiburg centre-back Matthias Ginter on a four-year deal

Ginter, who made 32 Bundesliga appearances in a Freiburg shirt last year has impressed managers and football fans alike with his performances and has been touted by many to star in the Premier League in the future.

"I am very happy to have signed Matthias. One of the scouts (Horst-Dieter Hottges) came up to me last week and said 'come and take a look at him, he could be a star one day'. I took a look at him and then sent another out for a second opinion. After hearing nothing but praise for the lad I was left with no other choice" explained proud gaffer Townend.

Leeds United are proud to unveil their second signing of the summer in 29-year-old central midfielder Cedric Makiadi from German Bundesliga side Freiburg

The Congolese central midfielder has signed on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee. Cedric Makiadi is well travelled in Germany. He started out at Northen side VfB Lubeck before being transferred to Wolfsburg where he made 88 appearances in the second team and 58 appearances in the first team, scoring a combined total of 25 goals.

In 2008, he made a loan switch to Duisburg where he made 33 appearances and scored 16 goals before securing a permanent transfer to Freiburg where he made 112 appearances and scored 9 goals before today's switch to Leeds.
I can't say I have ever heard of this player so it will be interesting to see how he does for you. I hope he is a big success!

I doubt anyone outside of Germany has heard of any of them but I got a 5 star potential report for Ginter (4 star current) and a 4 1/2 star report for Makiadi- both based on multiple scout reports so hopefully, they'll do the job my scouts say they will
