News - FM14 Summer Transfer Updates
With the summer transfer window comes plenty of transfers in the world of football. Just as with previous versions of Football Manager, people in the community have continued to develop and release unofficial data updates which apply all of these changes.

Again just as with previous installments of the game, there will be no official data update for the summer transfers, as it always comes with the new game. If you are looking to start a new save game with the latest world transfers applied, this article will significantly help you in the search for a suitable file.

IMPORTANT: These unofficial updates can be used in your game and have nothing to do with pirate copies; they are editor data files you could create yourself.

One day there will be a transfer update that doesn't discriminate against Central and South American leagues, especially Mexico. I have never seen an update that included that league.

@binga30: you have to flag the FarOer editor data and then choose it has a nation :)

Using FMOnline database, I cannot get it to start in May 2014. Only get July or September 2013 as start date options. What else do you have to do?

steve85s is brilliant much better than anyones iv tried loads and he has got the lower leagues bangers well done steve cheers

in my opinion, fmonline forum db is the best db update for now, because you can play new game in may 2014 and real date transfers. cheers

LfC Marshall's update is the best update around right now in my opinion

@andbelgium: First time I hear about this update. 250k changes seem unreal for sure, if it's done by one person alone. I see it has like 6.5k views and 4.4k downloads since November, which is a shame for an update that big. I'll definitely look into it. Thanks!

Do you know about the "FMZone Data Update" from the Dutch site FMZone? The latest update will be released at 17/09 and will have more than 250.000 changes. Really happy about his previous updates as well.

    His latest release: http://fmzone.eu/files/file/215-fmzone-data-update-x-fm2014/

@the champi0n fm: Changing player stats is quite subjective, but everyone's entitled to an opinion. I tried to be as fair as possible with my editor's pick, but still this is my personal recommendation and nothing more. However, regarding wonderkids... LFCMarshall said he doesn't add any youngsters to his database.

No player stats should never be altered as they are done on the say so of a handful of biased people....example Scouse players will always be made better...having read through his forum on FMBase I was shocked at the mindless people clambering for him to upgrade their favorite players, how can this be accurate? for this reason I will not use this update anymore even though Billie is a friend of mine...Sorry mate.

I would just like to add that i recommend LFC marshall over the o thers as he has acurately edited player stats, also LFC does have new wonderkids

@DAZS8: I wasn't aware of the Minsterman update, will look into it now. Thanks!
  • DAZS8's avatar
100k changes thats impressive I must say.
I look forward to testing that one out then when released.
There is also one out there called the Minstermans update which looks good, plus offers the English lower league as an option to play.
Also like the FMonline update which also has the English lower leagues but also Italy too plus you can start in May 2014 which is one of the best options available IMHO.
  • Stam's avatar
@DAZS8: You're judging a database by a single update that is delayed. Pr0 has exams now which is why he has set September 15th as the next update date since late August. That's 3 days from now, and from what I know it will have more than 100k changes overall. No other database can compete with that in my opinion.
  • DAZS8's avatar
To be honest I don't agree with PRo as the number 1 update for the simple reason he is so much later than others to release.
I have myself tested all the above Transfer/data updates, all have some info missing but that is to be expected as there is so much for the creators to add but some of them have really simple changes missing.
Mainly in the are of club staff, the best update for me from the list is Steve85 but I did help with a few staff updates on that one LOL.

@njt01: CA = Current Ability and PA = Potential Ability. It means that the databases with CA/PA changes have altered these values for certain players in an effort to do more justice to them based on what happened during last season.

Awesome but what does Ca/Pa mean ?

@Walter: Thanks for the kind words. I like the graphic as well, it's nicer than the one I made last year... even though it was a pain to fit 6 updates in the same 650 pixels of width lol
  • Walter's avatar
I actually think this is the perfect time Stam seeing as though lots of people are going to be using these after deadline day. Lovely graphic, too!

@the champi0n fm: That's the idea. I've had this article on my todo list for a while, and to be honest I should have published it a couple of weeks ago. But better late than never :)

Thank's Stam this was really helpful

@Alessandro: Each database is created by different people. Some of them put in more work into their updates than others. The purpose of this article is to compare each one of the major updates out there, to make it easier for you to choose which update best fits your needs.
  • Alessandro's avatar
Why the update more recent has less update changes than the update of 20 aug?
    I can install all?
    Thanks
